Senator Armstrong Vs MoS Superman
Probably man of steel because of heat vision. He would have to play keep away and keep hitting him with it.
@leo-343: even if he tried, Armstrong has vastly hypersonic reaction speed.
Also, Superman has not enough space or strenght to throw him into space.
MoS Superman is insanely overrated on CV.
Armstrong is stronger and has infinitely better combat speed. MoS struggled lifting a small portion of an oil rig which was pathetic:
Meanwhile, Armstrong out-mustled a guy who does things like this:
^That was pre-upgrade too.....
Tanked his blows like nothing:
Spammed punches infinitely faster than MoS has EVER shown:
He also casually caught and dodges Raiden's blade who swings it at hypersonic speeds:
Armstrong manhandles MoS.
The guy that fights at mach 2 and has mach 2000+ reaction time.
He doesn't fight at Mach 2.

He can keep up with Raiden, and Raiden fights at mach 2.

You realize that Armstrong literally blitzed Raiden, right?

Eh. I think Armstrong capitalized on his brute strength and durability against Raiden. Those punches didn't look like Mach 2. Every punch was just putting a toll on Raiden's endurance.

He still had to be hypersonic, at the very least, to keep up with Raiden. Armstrong was a brute, don't get me wrong, but he was by no means slow.
@beaconofstrength: Moreover, Raiden didn't look to be operating at hypersonic speeds in that fight.
@monsterstomp: Metal Gear never tries to hype and convey speed as high as possible. I'll put it like this: In MGS4, Vamp and Raiden were confirmed to be throwing their knives faster than machine gun fire, but it didn't look anything close to that; I could give plenty of examples of this throughout the Metal Gear franchise. Speed and other abilities come off pretty natural in Metal Gear.
@beaconofstrength: Metal Gear Rising wasn't developed by Konami, and I'm pretty sure its been confirmed as non-canon with the series. So that depiction doesn't really apply. Not only that, but this is the only real on-panel fight Raiden has had in the game, meaning this is actually a quantifiable portrayal of how the characters fight. In addition, I thought it was clear that there is a difference between standard feats and actual combative showings, in fiction at least.

Metal Gear Rising has always been canon; it was confirmed canon before it came out. I'm not sure where you got the notion that it wasn't.

What are you talking about? MGR:R had plenty of cut scenes and QTE-cut scenes showing off their abilities in speed the enitre game. Raiden wouldn't suddenly job for Armstrong; he did show off speed, it was just futile until he got the Murusama and could harm Armstrong.
In addition, I thought it was clear that there is a difference between standard feats and actual combative showings, in fiction at least.
But Raiden has used his speed throughout all of his games, including MGR:R. In that fight he tried to use his speed, but failed because Armstrong was an absolute monster. I see no reason to believe he was jobbing for Armstrong. It'd be like saying Batman isn't using his speed, if Bane tags him.
Looking back at my comment I made in this thread a month ago, I kinda underrated MoS but he does still in fact get stomped by Armstrong.

Batman has gotten bloody after fights with fodder. Flash's speed certainly isn't his saving grace when it could easily be. I still maintain the general idea that characters don't always operate at their best. But fair enough.
@monsterstomp: I'd agree with you, if it wasn't for all the bosses in Metal Gear being repetitively close to Raiden. I don't think the Flash example works that well, considering there's a massive gap between Flash and other street-levelers, while Armstrong and Raiden were pretty even.
