MK9 will be most likely a post MKA..so we'll fine out more concerning everyone. 
 
MKC isn't canon nor is the cartoon but powerwise the characters are accurate(not storywise except for Kung Lao original) the one in MKC is Liu Kang's ancestor....it's not the Kung Lao we all know from the games but they gave him the same look in the first episode.. 
 
This is the Kung Lao who fights Goro and gets killed...which we never saw but he had visions of it happening...

It's a sequel....but MK8 aka MKDC was a reboot of the series "gameplay wise" MK9 will be a continuation of MKA(MK7)'s storyline most likely but using the same engine more or less as MKvsDCU...if this helps lol ;) 
 
So storyline line wise kind of a fresh start/reboot but at the same time a continuation of the overall MK storyline with new starts for some characters and newer characters coming into the series... 
 
However, gamplay wise they've hinted that they'll be using MKDC's but improved and better online player, modes etc :)

im thinking sub-zero, but scorpion has a good chance of winning about 45%. Im leaving reptile out of this one

Why is Reptile being dismissed here? He has both their moves combined.

Ahh this topic again. Reptile I'll tell ya right away is a non-factor here. He lost to Johnny Cage and Sub-Zero in MK9.

I'm sure Scorpion can take Reptile also being as how he killed the Elder Sub-Zero, however Scorpion then lost to Kuai Liang, the younger brother and new Sub-Zero of Bi-Han(Elder Sub).

It depends which Sub-Zero here. While I think both can beat Reptile and Scorpion can too. It's simple here.

-Elder Sub-Zero probably beats Reptile

-Younger Sub-Zero beats Reptile and Scorpion.

Younger Sub-Zero beats his older brother Elder Sub-Zero(which he also did in MK9 when his older bro died due to Scorpion and became Noob) He defeated Noob in his Cyber form.

So overall I'm going with the Younger Sub-Zero aka Tundra aka Kuai Liang here.

@The_Last_Son_of_Czarnia: Only in MK1 when he was a super secret boss and they didn't give him his own moveset. After that he just became a regular character.

As for this I personally believe Scorpion would win this, what his being immortal and able to teleport. Sub Zero's a more than worthy opponent though, but Scorpion is the one favoured by the Elder Gods and the one who gets my vote.

Believe it or not, Reptile has a chance.

Skorpion HATES the Sub-Zero klan, and Sub-Zero hates Skorpion for killing Noob Saibot. They would probably go after each other with bloody vengeance. If Reptile is smart/lucky, then he would stay in the bakkround (invisible for most of the time), and then sneak up on the winner. I don't kare what you say, but in a Skorpion VS Sub-Zero, the winner will NOT win against Reptile (the fact that neither will go down until the other is dead on his feet kapitalizes that).

Good battle. Subzero wins, but not verry easily
