scorpion vs mercer

Alright in a full city with 100 people scorpion (mortal kombat) and alex mercer face off, blood lust, no rules, who wins?

Is this a joke ?

Scorpian has no chance of even touching Mercer let alone in a city with 100 people and even if he could a single devestator from Alex could wipe him out hell he'd just have to punch a hole through scorpian if he wanted to kill him this my friend is a straight up STOMP

IDK? Mecer looks to definitely have scorpion in the strength and physical durability department (with his constructs and such), but Scorpion is faster, has hell fire that goes beyond the physical, and I think he's more combat savvy than Mercer is.

Mercer is like a wrecking ball, an agile, and free roaming wrecking ball. Scorpion would most likely be able to dodge and/or counter a lot of mercer's attacks.

I doubt Mercer would be able to absorb Scorpion either.

I think scorpion has the ability to go head to head with Alex...especially if he goes Inferno.

@onilordasmodeus: Fire doesn't do shit to Mercer that's just game balancing you see in [PROTOTYPE] hell none of the things in the game could REALLY kill Mercer every thing is like a chew toy to him besides Mercer also has his whip fists for any annoying grabbing to handle and on the other hand there are his devestators that can wipeout hundreds of people the same size as scorpy here but I don't think Alex would need THAT much heavy artillery just for one guy

This is not a curbstomp really, Scorpion can easily close the gap with teleportation and BFR Alex in the Netherrealm.

First of all Alex has no experience against people with teleportation so he would be highly unfamiliar with the powerset that Scorpion has, then in order to impale him Alex has to predict where Scorpion will teleport to which will be highly unlikely since Alex isn't familiar with teleportation, and the only thing Scorpion has to do is grab him or open a portal and dump him in the Netherrealm which is technically a win.

Yes Quan was the mastermind, setting up subs and scorps meeting as well as killing his clan and family, but Elder Sub still killed Scorpion. Scorp wanted him dead regardless.

Scorpion really doesn't need to grab a hold of Alex, he has been shown to be able to open portals as well and it took almost no time for him to transfer Sub-Zero to the Netherrealm.

Scorpion can always avoid it through teleportation

Try teleporting away from a devastator. It's impossible. If Scorpion isn't killed by the initial blast, Alex will just destroy the whole city and then a falling piece of rubble will kill Scorpion. Plus, Mercer could just quickly disguise himself as a civilian among the one hundred people, and then kill Scorpion when he's unprepared.

Are there videos of Alex using the devastator, and is this common for him?

It's out of the question to not be defeated by a devestator I mean if he charged up enough he could do ALL THREE of his devastators at the same time.

And yes it is common for him he just needs to conume enough people to go in to Critical Mass mode which gives him extra health than he can do atleast three devestators(But sadly the game designers balanced that out to try and make the game harder despite it being a stomp through with all the different powers already )

1st devestator:Tendril barrage devestator:It can be done on the ground AND in the air.

It sends out THOUSANDS of Large tendrils out of Alex and impales people at an EXTREMELY long radius

2nd devestator:Critical Pain Devastator:Can also be done on foot and in the air

It sends out what most people would call a "red and Black metallic colored Kamehameha"

3rd devestator:Ground spike graveyard devestator:It can only be done on foot but it can be charged a little extra while in the air

It basically does what the name says.

groundspikes BUT very big spikes and alot of them based off why it's called "graveyard devastator"

Devastator is slow. Scorpion has plenty of time.

@ImmortalOne: Scorpion is one of the best teleporters in MK he can teleport himself between realms (demensions), it is well within his ability to teleport away from any of mercers attacks. In a straight up fight outside of the netherrealm mercer would win but if scorpion transports him to the netherrealm then mercer has no way to win even if scorpion chose to stay and fight him there, scorpion cannot actually be kill when he is "killed" he is returned to the netherrealm, the longer he stays there the stronger he becomes, its only a matter of time.

@VenomousDragon: Mercer can disguise himself as a civilian the moment the battle begins and blends in with the crowd. Then, he could just kill Scorpion while he was unprepared.

now that I'm thinking about it. Scorpion wins by DQ. Mercer has no feats since gameplay is inadmissible. Mercer has no feat that prove he's on Scorpion's level.

By that logic, Scorpion has no feats as well.

If they are aware of one another then Mercer could disguise himself and that would put Scorpion at a disadvantage. However, Scorpion is also a well trained fighter and assassin of the highest regard. That devastator attack looked like it would be devastating to most people, but it also seems like Scorpion very well could dodge any of those tendrils, even at the speed they were moving. He could teleport him in the Netherrealm as others have stated, etc. etc. But the other thing is, unless he does bring him to the Netherrealm I don't think he could kill Mercer, and Mercer would eventually find a way to kill him.

So this is how I lay it out:

Scorpion gets the jump on Mercer and teleports him to the Netherrealm = Win to Scorpion

Both fight it out int he city = Win to Mercer

Mercer gets the jump on Scorpion = Would easily turn into one of the two options above.

Realistically, I think this is a 5/10 both ways.

COOL! I didn't realize there were Prototype comics. Post some sweet scans of a few feats!

Scorpion is magical, not just "fire" lol.

And Scorpion has lots of powers besides that.

@Floopay: Actually the most Scorpion could do to Mercer (with enough juice) he could Knock Out Mercer but only for a few seconds and Tiring Mercer is completely out of the question because due to being a virus Mercer wouldn't need any air to breath through so realisticly it won't favor scorpion by ALOT trying to time teleportation patterns won't be SHIT for Alex he's consumed the minds of over 300 scientists and advanced tactical soldiers AND parasitic armies (300 of each factor) by the end of the game so basically......SUPER MIND.Tanks aren't hard either by the end of the game and in the comics AND in Prototype 2 he solos COUNTRIES without any trouble at all and Mercer getting the jump on someone could equal to he first option ?

Scorpion is a supernaturally-skilled warrior who's been through hell and back. He's fought on par with, and defeated, some of the greatest warriors on Earth and beyond, and not only does he have the skill tactics to fight them heads up, but he's got the durability to take their best and keep going. He has no weakness other than his emotions which really only serve to amp up his rage and destructive power.

I know Mercer is super-human, but I don't believe he has super senses or any super fighting prowess. While he has assimilated hundreds, if not thousands, of people, those consciousnesses don't stack, they can't logically. Unimportant pieces must get over written or deleted/forgotten when they are not needed. And though Mercer has assimilated many fighting moves and experiences, I think for the most part, he fought mindless or feral monsters. If that is not the case, please tell me.

Mercer just seems to be a lunatic with awesome powers at his disposal.

Mercer's fighting skill isn't really his main advantage. He does have some formal training as he gains the memories and abilities of everyone he absorbed (thus it stands to reason he should have the military training of every soldier he's ever absorbed) and Mercer isn't really a lunatic (not post infection anyway) he was a scientist for Blackwatch and a pretty damn smart one at that.

Still, Mercer's stats are far above Scorpions he can lift tanks, regenerate from a nuclear explosion(if there is biomass present), he is also strong enough to thunderclap (he can send cars flying by doing this so i'm guessing he's an 80-100 tonner), outrun moving vehicles easily, use devastator attacks that range from tentacles erupting from his body and draining victims to causing huge spikes to come out of the ground and impale victims. I haven't played Prototype 2 yet so i'm not 100% sure on what his new upgraded form is capable of.
