The Scarlet Spider has just taken down a national drug operation and has devastated the criminal underworld in doing so. A displeased Rupert Thorne has taken measures to have the "spider problem" taken care of. An elite mercenary by the the name of Bane comes in and guarantees to to study the habits of "The Spider" for 4 weeks, to learn the Scarlet Spider's habits, strengths & weaknesses, and lets Thorne know that Bane will arise from the battle known as "The Man who Crushed The Spider". 4 weeks have passed & Ben Reilly fully armed has discovered a note on his dresser telling him that he has Gwen Stacy on top of a particular building captive. Ben dons the mask of The Scarlet Spider and rushes to her rescue. Ben finds her and tries to web away only to have his web only to have a large powerful figure with a promethium battle axe cuts their web line on them mid swing from a higher rooftop knocking them down to a lower one. The Scarlet Spider gets back on his feet on this dark stormy night, and sees a menacing figure before him in the shadows, and tells Gwen to stand back. "Your life ends tonight Spider!" Bane announcesBane armed with a promethium battle axe and his venom dispenser VS The Scarlet Spider armed with all his own personally designed weapons and devices. Who wins?
I'm leaning to the Scarlet Spider as well, but I think Ben will have his work cut out for him. Bane is incredibly adept both martially and strategically, to the point where he is in Batman's league. He has been able to take down the likes of the League of Assassins on his own without prep or the use of venom to give him super human abilities. Remember in this fight that Bane is equipped with venom.
