Who wins and why?
Sasori
These guys are both tough Kakuzo's 5 elemental hearts make him a pain to deal with. He seems like more of an offensive threat.
Sasori has his heart hidden in that tube and Kakuzo would have to go through a ton of puppets + poisoned iron sand just to get to it. His 3rd kazekage, Mother & Father, himself, 100 puppets, and Hiruko armor will give Kakuzo hell.
I think Sasori busts all of Kakuzo's hearts before Kakuzo can figure out how to stop Sasori's in a high difficulty battle.
It might just be me, but I think it would be troublesome for Sasori to use more than about 5 puppets in this forest. There's not enough room imo for him to utilize all of his arsenal. But then again, either of them could probably just clear out a huge area with Fire Jutsu or Metal Sand. I'll give it to Kakuzu though for now.
kakuzu's elemental attacks are strong enough to easily wipe any puppet of sasori, and poison won't work on kakuzu i think coz of how is body is, so the only real problem for kakuzu is the 3rd kazekage and his iron sand. But i think kakuzu would take it
Kakuzu's skin can only be penetrated by lightning, and he has tanked explosions, how do Sasori's attacks (barring poison) hurt Kakuzu, and had enough physical strength to whip Chouji. Plus Kakuzu is faster and has more destructive attacks which could wreck Sasori.
I'm going Kakuku high difficulty. Kakuzu has the damage potential with his 4 elemental bodies to wreck most of Sasori's puppets, but Sasori has excellent control of his puppets, a movable heart, the Third's Iron Sand, and poison in almost all his attacks. If Kakuzu's bodies can get affected by the poison, then he's not reabsorbing them back into himself as he's just going to get poisoned himself. I'm giving Kakuzu the edge though because of speed and damage capacity.
@roronuffy: Sakura had Chiyo's help. If not for that, she would've been stomped.
@roronuffy: Totally different circumstances.
But yes, I also agree that Kakuzu wins.
I'll go with Kakuzu 5.1/10. Extremely close battle though. Idk how poison would effect Kakuzu hearts once they've seated from his body, but Kakuzu was extremely destructive and powerful so sasoris puppets will be foddered instantly. Only one that stands a chance is Kazekage puppet
Kakuzu slaughters. He's pure AOE, that's the perfect counter for Sasori. Not to mention, nothing Sasori tries can actually hurt him.

@dawnone: Yes, a significant advantage considering Chiyo knew many of his tricks, trickery is essential to a puppeteer specialist. They had also prepped by creating antidotes for his poisons, otherwise they would've died. Also, Sasori would've won had he not let himself be killed towards the end, since it was his parents 'embracing' him that he wanted all his life.

man naruto before all the war shit was pretty edgy.
Remember that it took another Puppet Master to beat Sasori. Had his opponent not had the deep history and knowledge of puppets, then it would have taken most of the team. Sasori is probably well aware of Kakuzu's abilities, while I doubt Kakuzu knows much about many of Sasori's puppets, so the element of surprise is on his side. I think if anyone is equipped to handle Kakuzu's many "lifes", it's Sasori and his plethora of traps. Also they are in a forest, so plenty of room for a puppet master to set nice traps. I'm going to give this to Sasori in 6/10.
@mee09: I'd say he would've done so if he had led with his strongest attacks and kept it at mid-range, his forte. Like how Kakashi admitted he couldn't stop a blast of his fire and air combined attack.
That said Kakashi did seem to believe that Kamui would've won him the fight, but excluding Kamui the best he could hope for at that time was to hold his own.

Kind'a hard to say without knowing how poison would effect Kakuzu. He might be immune to it, but at the same time sneaking something into his blood like that could cause it to get pumped through all his hearts at once killing him.
I'm really confused by all the statements saying this is close. Can someone explain it for me, because I don't see why.

what u mean? Its close because they are 100ft apart from each other. Sasori can get close enough to fight Kakuzu within that rage or have his puppet do it for him and if he lands hits chances are Kakuzu dies
