Why spite? Galactus was recently turned into a HERALD by Franklin Richards, and Dream has shown capable of winning (not through sheer power, but guile) against Lucifer. Galactus has been jobbing for years now, and even he dreams - I think Morpheus could beat him.

BBNo I know, but I dont see him beating Galactus....
You should probably read Sandman, it's a great series.
Death would defeat Galactus, not sure about Dream. I'll have to consider this, but I suspect he'd have a shot at least.

I have read it........ It is good....
Thanks for the recommendation??
Galactus is incapable of harming Dream who is way above him on the cosmic pecking order. Dr Destiny was able to warp reality with a portion of Dreams power other than that Dream was never a showy character.

Spidermans Sandman is the only Sandman i've ever known.... He would stomp Galactus and his Herolds real hard.
Sandman is the guy that is believed to put people to sleep.
I am going to say Sandman and I dont know how to explain why lol.

Dream has never defeated Lucifer in any kind of confrontation. He mildly embarrassed him in front of all the citizens of Hell once, and that was it.
I'll say Dream anyway.

BB
Yep. People annoy me.
I'll go with Sandman on this one.
@CitizenBane: I specifically said that Morpheus would not win against Lucifer directly. But Morpheus was able to out-play Lucifer in Hell, with everyone there...and all at once, like you said. Forget his power level - throughout the Lucifer series, it's his mind that makes him so formidable...and for Morpheus to do that to Lucifer - the master of guile - is definitely an accomplishment. It goes to show that Dream can do more than just wield power - he can think, formulate strategies - and against Galactus, who despite his supposedly great power seems to just blast stuff, Dream should win this.

I think you're downplaying Galactus' intelligence and just how useful cosmic awareness is. This is what happened to Doom upon absorbing Galactus' power..
Ha! Opened up this thread and thought it'd be Spidey Sandman vs. Galactus, was pretty much wondering who'd be dumb enough to vote for Sandman.
However, this is Neil Gaiman Sandman. I'd say this is about even. Aren't Death, Dream, Destiny, and the rest of the Endless about abstract level? The only thing that makes me lean towards Galactus is that the Endless change hosts as I recall. When one of them falls they transform into a new body. Though Galactus has also been killed before, he is supposed to be abstract level and Eternity regards him as his equal. He's jobbered a lot, but I think standard level he could take this.
I am going to go with Galactus, but this would be an interesting crossover.

He did not out-play Lucifer or anyone else in Hell. He outplayed an archduke of hell called Choronzon. The only reason Lucifer felt slighted was because he was expecting a different outcome. Dream paid another visit to Hell later on and admitted that he was frightened of Lucifer. His mind did not help him there.

I do not see how this is a valid reason for Galactus winning. The Endless do not change hosts for the simple reason that they do not have hosts. The only instance of this happening was when Morpheus transferred his essence into Daniel Hall to make him the new Dream of the Endless, and even that is iffy since Daniel was a child born in dreams and thus part of Morpheus ultimately. The Endless can also usually only be killed under a very specific set of circumstances. Dream's death, for instance, had a bunch of extraneous factors that Galactus cannot replicate without prep. Eternity does not regard Galactus as an equal. That is nonsense, and while we're at it, Eternity has also once said that the Living Tribunal is the only being he considers a peer. Does anyone really think a cosmic punching bag like Eternity is equal to the Living Tribunal?

I personally think Morpheus is well above a cosmic being like Galactus, and deals with beings well above Galactus, like Lucifer. Not sure how this was ever not one sided, imo, as I don't really see what Galactus can do to Morpheus, who's power far outweighs his, imo. It's hard to weigh Vertigo characters against Marvel ones, especially cosmic beings. Again, this is all just imo.
@CitizenBane: Nope. These excellent scans from http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=477644&pagenumber=1 save me the trouble of finding my Lucifer collection:
Lucifer is the king of prep. If someone interferes with his expectation of a different outcome, that is a feat, and showcases Morpheus' cleverness. And in their later encounter, Lucifer gave Morpheus the key to Hell, so there wasn't much Morpheus could do about it. Yes, Lucifer won in the end, because he is leagues of levels beyond the Endless in power and, in his case, guile...but it doesn't change the fact that Morpheus won a small victory against a much more powerful opponent, and it doesn't change the fact that he could do the same to Galactus not by outfighting, but by outhinking.
This thread is hilarious. I love all the guys on the first page calling spite. Now I know that I usually screw up when not looking at OPs, but at least I knew to check, because I knew it was possible the OP was referring to Dream.
Anyway, I'm backing Morpheus here. I could definitely see him winning this.
@Floopay: He's not equal to them people just say that because Galactus has talked to them to them a few times.

You can't throw a stone without hitting a cosmic entity in the Marvel universe, each new addition diminishes the rest.

The Sandman, Morpheus, Dream of the Endless.
Please do research before making comments like that. Dream is, in no way, outclassed here, and in no way is this spite.
@Baldy: Only problem with this is that it's a feat for Doom, not Galactus. Personally, I love Galactus. I have a Galactus on my shelf, waiting to eat this planet (or maybe just my living room). But let's be honest: all he seems to do is blast stuff with his hands, blast stuff with his eyes, or...job to characters like Phoenix, Thanos, and Franklin Richards. If anything, the Silver Surfer has more varied feats with the Power Cosmic than Galactus does. I think Galactus has the POTENTIAL to beat just about anyone...but going by his standard MO, Morpheus wins this. Now, if it was the Doom in that Secret Wars scan against Morpheus......
