Sandman vs Dust

Fight between Sandman (spidey villain) vs Dust (new X-Men)

The fight takes place in a desert, who would come out victorious? Or would this be an eternal stalemate..

Dust is a human that transforms into sand, Sandman is made of sand and can mimic the shape of a human.

Dust can't maintain her dust form indefinitely as Sandman can and when she reverts it's game over.

Agreed. Dust won't be able to 'sandblast' Flint, and she'll get pounded into jelly the second she returns to human form. Sandman is just more versatile.

In theory couldn't Dust control Sandman?

As I understand it, she can only control her own sand particles, not sand in general.

Sandman can merge with natural sand to augment his power. Since they're in the middle of a desert...he's God. And he might be able to merge with Dust as well, which would cause some interesting complications.

I Don't think he can, because she transforms herself into an cloud of sand-like particles. I actually thought at first she could control the sand as well, but it seems like i made a mistake in my thinking there :)

dust would win easily.now if it was dust vs gaara,that would be a different story entirely.

Sandman. He has bigger feats than Dust.

While i dont know if it's canon or not, i used to own a Spidey comic where Sandman passed out from the lack of oxygen.

If it is, I'd say Dust has a chance, if she can force herself to generate enough windforce for long enough.

@Outside_85: Are you referring to the first appearance of the Sinister Six? I remember Sandman created an air-tight trap for Spider-Man, but Spider-Man was able to hold his breath longer, forcing Sandman to pass out. I guess it really depends on whether Sandman still has that same weakness or not. He may have evolved to such a point that he no longer requires air.
