@slacker the hacker: what does SA stand for?Silver Age...
Thanos could probably find a way to leash, trick, control or even defeat Mangog, with prep.
He's Thanos. That's what he does.
But, if we are talking about a spontaneous fight here, Mangog would take him.
Mangog unless Thanos has prep. Though current Thanos might be able to win without prep based off of how powerful I hear he is.
R1 is Thanos - he can teleport him to an asteroid and then teleport back to Mars.
R2 - tough call. Mangog should be physically stronger, but Thanos has his tech and shields. Thanos could also do what he did to Champion. I'd give it 6/10 to Mangog.
Id give Thanos the majority, even if it goes physical Thanos can hang with SA Mangog plus Thanos ep is strong enough.
Thanos both round.
Also why SA Mangog, when Mangog was never retconned.
And we have the whole Thor: Tears of a God saga where Mangog was clearly shown to be Thanos's inferior based on :
1. Mangog was working as Thanos's lackey, how often do you see a superior being work as a lackey willingly, without any notion to cross him, as his lackey?
2. Thor one shots Mangog with a anti-force blast, but in order to face Thanos he needs Odin Force, which seem insufficient, then he grabs belt of strength, Odin shield and finally beats thanos.
Then comes out beloved Starlin, who beliving its a low showing for Thanos retcons it.
Thanos certainly seemed superior.

I think people rank Mangog so highly, since he posed as Odin, who has been shown to superior to Thanos. But analysis is spot on.

He posed as Odin? When? What am i missing coz i am betting there is a huge context there.
Mangog and Odin has fought twice that i know of and Odin one shotted him both instance :)
@Killemall: Thor 242. He was posing as an imprisoned Odin.
Also, it certainly seems the under most cases Thor has alot of difficultly defeating Mangog, at least by physical force in the majority of cases. Sill, this doesn't means he should be elevated to Thanos' level :)
I think it would be fairer if it was Mangog vs Thanos H2H combat only.
@laflux: H2H I would Mangog's favor because Mangog has neither been defeated, nor really hurt by hitting thus far, although he doesnt really have a lot of feats, apart from fighting Thor and few fellow Asgardians. He just gives the impression of a perfect brute in terms of h2h.
He is however slower than Thanos. A full fledged fight Thanos should win virtually everytime.
Round 1: Thanos
Round 2: Mangog, maybe
What's stopping Thanos from manipulating his molecules? Attacking him with telepathy? Or simply blasting him with his potent blast?
Mangog is a one trick pony, and isnt even addressed as being superior to Thanos in any category. As far as i am concerned Thanos ever freakin' time.
