Rules of the Road

I have a question about the battles section and forgive me for being new. It seems that all the obvious battles have been done. When someone creates a new Superman vs. Thor thread for example, it gets closed. If someone puts a lopsided fight it get closed. And no one ever wants to comment on battles including obscure characters, or if they do it is jokes with no reference to the characters. So what do people want to see in the battles section, and will the obvious fights ever be in play again?
