ROTJ Obi-Wan vs ROTJ Vader

I know Vader technically won in the movie but Obi-Wan kinda gave it up. I have read a few Forums on different sites but no one seems to know what they are talking about.(ex: some crazy person says ROTS Anakin was 1000x stronger than palpatine) Can I get the StarWars masters of Comic Vine to weigh in on this topic pulling their knowledge from external movie based sources like books and comics and what-ever else is out there.

I wanna give it to Obi-Wan but while Obi-Wan was hiding on tatooine looking out for Luke, Vader was being taught by the most powerful man in the galaxy. He further honed his skills by hunting down remaining Jedi masters. I've got more but I'll wait for debate.

Return of the Jedi Obi-Wan versus Return of the Jedi Vader? First off, Obi-Wan is a Force Spirit here, so there's that. But if you are referring to ANH Kenobi vs ROTJ Vader, then Vader would win. 9/10 if not a stomp

why do you say vader takes it 9/10 that would imply the contest isnt even close. what are you basing this huge lead after?

Looked like Vader was really trying to win while Ben was just holding him off for a bit. I always took that as Ben being superior, further enforced after watching the prequels. I say Ben learned and knew more about the Force than Vader and the Emperor knew during the time between ep 3 and ep 4. Yoda did say he learned how to commune with Qui Gon and would teach him how to do it. I am sure Jinn taught Ben some serious crap in order to make sure Luke survived, no matter what. Ben was there and ready to save him from pretty much anything, including the Emperor. I think Bens training was implied heavily after the end of Ep3 and that he and Anikan kept their parralled skill levels until Bens "Death". Meaning that despite all that Vader acquired and all that power he learned, Ben still outmatched him, just as he did in Ep3.

So with that, I say Ben would still win.

@Drache64: Vader wasn't in his prime in the suit until ROTJ. Plus in ANH, Obi-Wan was always on teh defensive. Kenobi probably won't beat Vader in that case

sorry guys, i did my research and i found this exerpt from "Fightsaber: lightsaber combat" a canon reference document for starwars:

However, due to his long isolation on Tatooine, Kenobi's skills as a swordsman atrophied, having gone for years without significant practice. Despite this, he remained a formidable Form III practitioner, able to hold off Vader's during their rematch . However, at this point, Kenobi's skill was only sufficient to facilitate survival; he could not achieve victory against Vader's cautious assault. Kenobi ultimately tired, and rather than continue the fight, opted to sacrifice his physical self and become one with the Force

looks like I'll have to make a new thread ROTS Kenobi vs ROTJ Vader. keep an eye out for that.
