ROTJ Luke Skywalker vs ROTS Mace Windu

• This is Windu at his normal power levels, nothing to do with his power levels when fighting Sidious
• No prior knowledge
• Both have all EU feats, apart from anything post-ROTJ for Luke
• Fight takes place where Luke fought Vader during ROTJ
• Fight to the death/ko/incapacitation

Mace in Revenge of the Sith was a much better fighter than Luke in Return of the Jedi. He should take this with a little difficulty, but not too much.

What is this? ROTJ Luke takes this.

Why does anyone think this is lopsided for either guy? Luke, through his "potential", was able to be a perfect equal to Vader during ROTJ. And Vader has been regarded as one of the most skilled swordsmen in all of history. Which as an accolade is very similar to Mace only being second to Yoda, and being one of the greatest lightsaber duelists in all of history. I think it is quite a debatable topic all things considered.

I didn't mean what is this this is a bad fight I meant what is this why is everybody saying Windu.

@beezlebub: Probably because it's a good fight and not everyone thinks Luke wins :p

What gives Luke the edge, broski?

In skill Windu takes it but only by a little but Luke makes up for it with his adaptability and force potential. Luke was able to fight Vader to a perfect stalemate and I'd say Vader is either equal to or above Mace in skill. More on the adaptability Luke is probably the most adaptable SW character in the series as he was able to advance in both skill and power extremely quickly and was able to use an almost perfect copy of Darth Vader's Djem So after only one duel. Along with that Luke has been shown to be extremely strong and on a higher tier then Windu in comparison their durability is roughly the same although I am inclined to give a slight majority to Luke do to his extensive physical training and injuries he's sustained fighting Vader and the Empire. With speed they are roughly equal or Luke being slightly faster due to his training and dueling feats against Vader. And finally I believe that Luke's TK is on a much higher level then Windu's own and more precise to boot.

Final analysis.

Speed: Luke = > Mace.

Strength: Luke > Mace.

Durability: Luke = > Mace.

Skill: Luke < Mace.

Adaptability: Luke > Mace.

Force Potential: Luke > Mace.

Force power: Luke > Mace.

I hate giving reasons. :/

Mace may be superior in dueling skill as the best feat Luke had at this point was being even with his father..but I don't recall any TK feats suggesting he's noticeably stronger in that area. Speed I'd give to Luke..but the gap shouldn't be that big to make much of a difference.

@shootingnova: I thought you'd opt for something closer to 5.5/6, seeing as you think Luke takes a slim majority over TPM Maul, who is near enough the same in the way of how he stacks up against Luke (apart from the fact there's no real martial arts disparity, and Windu is a tad more skilled than TPM Maul and Maul in general).

But I guess it's a matter of one or two wins, right?

@i_like_swords: Luke is about as fast as Mace, about as strong/stronger but it wouldn't matter very much, and is only as powerful or slightly less powerful, and Mace is more skilled, so he gets a slim majority.

I'd say Mace takes about 7/10 against TPM Maul. Luke could stalemate Maul.

Luke's telekinetic feats are not better than Mace's at all. Luke has supported AT-ST's, but Mace has manipulated AT-TE's, which are larger, and Mace also threw droids nearly three kilometers, manipulated boulders, manipulated trees, etc. The only portion of telekinesis where Luke can be assumed to have an advantage is range, but that is completely irrelevant in a fight where the combatants are in a close proximity. Power lies even, or potentially in Mace's favor.

Luke has the potential to win he should not be outclassed that much in stats and has the raw power with anger boost advantage over Mace due to anger boost ROTJ Luke scaling to ROTJ Vader , but Mace was still superior in dueling only second to Yoda, and has a fighting style to counter rage boosted fighters. Even though he gets power from it, Luke would lose in a good battle If he fights with that style.
