Doctor who the latest episode shows how really incompetent Rick is I don't wanna spoil it but was hilarious. Rick is smart but he makes a lot of errors.

@dr_shandian: I think rick has a good shot at this. What does the Dr have that Rick doesn't? This isn't spite at all.

I haven't, but unless he's a clone of Bugs Bunny, The Doctor wins.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Bugs no only has toon force but his legend and Icon status will always beat any new comer/whiper snapper. Also Toon Force favors the funnier one.

@cjdavis103: Cool, so he messes with Rick's tech...and then gets the crap beaten out of him. I can't remember any combat feats off the top of my head (last time I checked, the Doctor didn't have much going for him outside of tech).

Unless 'standard gear' includes the TARDIS, my money's on Rick. The Doctor's screwdriver could mess with Rick's tech, but if it came to it then Rick would probably win in an all-out fist fight.

Exactly this. He's been portrayed as someone who can build almost anything. A battle with prep between these two would be nuts.

I've only seen a few episodes of Rick & Morty, but Rick's technological ability certainly seems to fall under the category of "toonforce intelligence." However, he's not one for strategy or even common sense at that.

I go Rick, he might be the smartest person in the universe and defeated all the multi-versions of himself. Nearly all cartoons have toonforce but Rick and Morty don't. if he's falling he's falling. he doesn't get up and walk off. he does however have the tech(intelligence) to defy some laws of physics.

@cjdavis103: We've watched Rick choke out a giant centaur like a pro. I think Doctor would have issues taking down Rick in H2H. I reckon that he'd have to out-think Rick to win. I'm not saying he couldn't but Rick is more than a physical match and he's demonstrated some pretty epic tactical thinking and his tech is something else.

I say that Doctor still has him beat in raw intellect though. That and general reliability. Rick is a drunk and a flake. Also, any of Doctor's assistants would eat Morty alive.

Can't rick just freeze time when the battle starts with prep and do whatever he wants to the doctor? I haven't seen a lot of Dr Who so I don't know if he's ever shown the ability to counter such tech but if he has then the doctor takes it.

Time Lords are immune to changes in the pace of time, at least the Third Doctor was in the episode Time Monster

Well, that's the only time it's happened.

Doesn't matter which Doctor for the purpose of this feat, since it's a Time Lord genetic thing as the Master was also resistant to the change of flow in time. It appears we are using 11, who is not much of a brawler. Three or Four, and maybe Six, would be fine with fisticuffs, but 11 isn't that kind of guy.

@the_imperator: yeah I'm looking thru a dr who episode guide and I guess I didn't realize just how much of this show there actually is. Jeez. But yeah if all time lords are "immune to changes in the pace of time" the doc should take it. But man, who tf knows what rick could come up with in prep time. Guess we'll find out in season 2 :P

Rick literally has a universe of himself led by a Council of Ricks from every every universe. You have 13 Doctors. We have infinite Ricks. The main thing about Rick is that 99% of the time he doesn't give a crap about what's going on around him. He only cares about whatever he happens to be working on at the time.

If Rick happens to be working on something that destroys the world with an infectious, mutatious plague, then instead of actually trying to fix it, he will simply find a universe that's near identical to his own and enter it at the moment that universes Rick and Morty are killed and just assume the same roles in that universe and not give two $hits about wrecking the previous universe.

Rick is quite literally Doctor Who on drugs.

Rick, guy is the Smartest man in the universe and outsmarted the Devil. And I mean the ACTUAL Devil, not some snarling beast chained under an asteroid.

yes and no the "Doctor"is an alien that can regenerate his body continues and a senblence of his personalaty passes on as well but there is an extrime change in personality and look each time he regenerates

Imressive to bad this is 1 on 1 and in that one on one the Doctor wins quite handily

@cjdavis103: Ultimately depends on the prep. Much like how the Doctor can get assistance from his other selves with prep, Rick can get what he needs from his other selves and whatever time/dimension he feels like going to.

He even outsmarted a group of aliens trying to trick him with an illusionary world to learn his secrets, and after appearing to finally beat him and get how to create this special fuel, the moment they put the ingredients together, it explodes and kills them all while Rick flies away with his son-in-law who was stuck with him.

And Rick tends to do all of this while puke-stinking drunk. I don't think we've seen a Sober Rick that wasn't from an alternate universe. I think the main difference between them is that the Doctor jumps around in time and ends up having to solve problems that arise, while Rick is an actual scientist and ends up creating/solving issues all the time, usually those that were his fault anyway. Even outsmarting other Ricks. As he said himself "I'm the Rickiest Rick!"

Rick is also a plot device, only in a more comedic fashion. In said episode where he outsmarts the Devil, he turns everyone of the Devil's cursed objects into something that benefited people. He did this almost instantly with each one. He also builds devices and technology on the fly.

In episode 4, he outsmarted the smartest creatures in the galaxy and figured out he was in multiple "false reality simulations"

@the_stegman: he knew he was in a simulation but didn't know how deep in it he really was, they tricked him into thinking that they were already out of the simulation while keepin them in the simulation. Also it wasn't ever stated that they were the smartest aliens in the galaxy. They're the "most ambitious, least successful con artists." Not that I'm downplaying rick at all

Though actually to be fair, it seems as though he did know just how deep in the simulation he was by giving them a false "concentrated dark matter" recipe.

Here is the thing unlike rick the Doctor can and will get very very serious once he knows the kind of a$$ Rick is and how he callously disregards lives that will make the Doctor pissed and well a Pissed off Doctor is one of the scarcest beings in all of fiction There are very few beings that can stand up to a morals off Doctor with prep and that is what rick is looking at here this is a Doctor who will use the laws of time to wipe you from exstaince who will wip out the forbiden artifacts of doom to destroy you utterly

@cjdavis103: I wouldn't say so. Plenty of people way scarier than the Doctor. Since it involves prep there's no telling what can happen, especially with how utterly random Rick can be. And if he's got a Morty, he can't be detected or tracked.

Rick seemed to not know if he was in a simulation or not when he came home. In the end credits he held a knife to Morty asking him if he was a simulation or not. Just sayin.
