This is a topic that has been done once before, a few years ago I believe. But now that times have changed, universe have been altered, etc etc, I think it's time to revisit little battle once more. Who would win in a fight of Darkseid and the arrmies of Apokolips vs The Guardians of the Universe and their Green Lantern Corps. So let's look at our contenders.
Darkseid
Not the old Darkseid either, but the New 52 Darkseid. This is a top-tier tyrant, who spends the majority of his time waging wars across the multiverse against Highfather and the forces of New Genesis. A Multiversal war that has gone on for millennia I might add, that has only ever been brought to a stand still. This is a being that destroys universes, his planet consumes other planets just to to maintain itself, and has control over vast armies of parademons, furies, lowlies, and slaves taken from most likely hundreds of earth's. His Parademons are made from the imprisoned populations of the world's he has conquered. His generals such as Steppenwolf and Kalibak, have proven themselves the equals of some of earth's greatest fighters such as Superman and Wonder Woman, who have led successful campaigns on other Earth's across the Multiverse. And then Darkseid himself has proven himself capable of taking on multiple foes as well. In Justice League he shown to have fought on equal grounds against Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg and in Earth 2: World's End, he shown to have taken a Multiversal Powered Green lantern(Alan Scott), Two Kryptonians, Red Tornado, Aqua-Woman, Batman, Flash, Doctor Fate, and Red Arrow with relative ease.
Powers, Resource, Forces, etc
- Unknown number of Parademon and foots soldiers- mostly likely in the hundreds of thousands.
- Wielder of the Omega Force
- Strong and Intelligent Generals and Champions such as Kalibak, Barda, Steppenwolf, Brutaal, and his Furies
- The resources of the God-Planet Apokolips.
Feats
- Has conquered and destroyed multiple universes
- Has fought Highfather, Orion, and the other forces of New Genesis (Powerful New Gods such as himself) to a standstill over the millenia
- Has taken on multiple top tier hero either on their own or at the same time such as Wonder Woman, Superman, Power Girl, etc
Guardians of the Universe and Green Lantern Corps
On the other side of the field you have the Guardians of the Universe and their Green Lantern Corps. So we'll start off with the Guardians first. Powerful cosmic beings hailing from the World of Maltus, the Guardians of the Universe were a sect of the Maltusians that had taken it upon themselves to keep watch and guard over our beloved Universe. Renaming themselves Oans, the world that they would eventually use as their base of Operations. These are powerful ancient beings, many eons old, with unrivaled knowledge of the universe, and with access to the emotional spectrum of energy itself. Primarily the Green Power of Will/Resolve. To which they would later use to create and empower their Green Lantern Corp. It's hard to find some good sources to show exactly how powerful they are, but to use some references. Ganthet in Injustice: Year Two showed himself capable of easily dealing with both Shazam and Superman (Up until he received the Sinestro Corps ring), as well as giving off burst of energy that were capable of incinerating dozens of sinestro corps members with ease. The Guardians have been shown many times to be capable of dealing with numerous lanterns, beings such as Superboy Prime and Hank Henshaw and even cause some harm to the Anti-Monitor. Then there is the matter of the Green Lantern Corps itself with over 7200 Lanterns armed with one of the greatest weapons in the universe. With notable wielders such as Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kilowog, and Sodam Yat. Not to mention Mogo, a living planet armed with a Green Lantern ring of his own.
