Being from Oklahoma I understand the force that an ef5 tornado can deliver. They level whatever is in the way. They dwarf the power of atomic bombs as far as the devastation they leave. That's a tough thing to claim but they do.
But I'm not sold on the "air in their lungs claim." Why wouldn't red just do that every time? Why waste the time in combat?
Same reason Kitty Pryde doesn't reach into peoples bodies and take out their hearts, or why Sue Storm doesn't insta-kill everyone via bubbles I guess.

Because it's not "reddy" that does it, it's the tornado tryrant one part of the entity that resides within him. I didn't set the battle, I didn't make it morals off. the only way "reddy" is morals off is to be bloodlusted and release the two entities within him, the Tornado champion and the tornado Tyrant. Doing so makes him a trans level character. the "normal" reddy we see doesn't even use the power of the elemental that resides within him. he uses the mechanisms of the android casing that he wears. He also uses the "programmed personality file of Reddy with a little bit of the entities influence over it. It's like comparing Alan Scot to a Starheart possessed entity, Sentry to Void unleashed, Raven to possessed by her demonic form, Jean Grey to WFoC.
