Ventress is a heavily kinetic, acrobatic and tactical fighter who seeks the edge of the environment and projectiles whenever she can. She's smart, agile and fast, and at times can be especially ferocious.
Jinn in contrast is very rooted, strong, and straight-forward in his approach. He doesn't seek tactical edges. He uses the elaborate swordplay of Ataru in conjunction with his impressive strength to break down and overwhelm his opponents' defence.
Inherently, Ventress has a better approach to fighting, or at least, hers is well suited to deal with Jinn's. She has much more mobility and will take advantage of factors Jinn will not only ignore himself, but overlook the possibility of having them used against him.
In terms of skill.. Jinn met Maul head-to-head in a pretty brutal contest of strength and skill, and ended up on the losing end due to his inferior physical ability, flagging stamina, lesser Force connection, poorer training; overall inferiority. Having said that? He met Maul head-on on Tatooine and held out for a good 30 seconds fighting just the way Maul would have wanted him to.. and while he only narrowly escaped, he did well for himself against such a powerful duelist. Of course when Maul took a more measured approach against Jinn and his apprentice he took a more prolonged, but also more casual victory, because he had the tactical edge.
Ventress has had her share of duels; she had a close fight with Obi-Wan in the TCW movie where they mutually disarmed each other, though IIRC, Kenobi disarmed Ventress twice, one blade after the other, forcing Ventress to flee (also because he threw her blades off a cliff, so there's that). So, pretty close fight but Obi-Wan by the end of it was superior overall. Kenobi's a smart, precise fighter; Ventress met him on those fields and did well for herself, better than Jinn did against Maul. She has also had extensive fights with Anakin, someone who like Jinn focuses on overwhelming strength.. except is much better at it than Jinn, frankly, though is just as straight forward in his approach. She's never beaten Anakin, and Anakin has beaten her, but it's enough to say that Jinn's strength won't be greatly taxing for her.
Ventress' acrobatics and tactical approach, however? Probably going to be effective against Jinn. She'll definitely not be tiring him out, nor will she have an easy time of beating him; his strength and technical skill is seriously impressive and Ventress is considerably below Maul in all the areas of combat he used to break Jinn down. But in the end she has higher quality performances and a better approach to dueling, so she should come out on top in a good fight.

ILS really dominating CV today kek. Nothing I could add here, besides the fact that within all those tools Ventress holds, there is also her superior command over telekinesis - one that she frequently demonstrated an aptitude for. She used telekinesis in mid of combat very often; not only via what ILS already mentioned (basically dogpiling the opposition with barrage of loose items), but also via direct usage on the opponents, and usually pretty well suiting the environment, mostly attacking with TK when the opponent had the wall behind him to hit, the ledge to throw him off, and others like that. Given Ventress holds more power, this also adds more to her arsenal, providing her with clear win in every situation, but Qui-Gon should make her work for it.
@jkbart: Good points, I should have mentioned her superior power as well.
ILS has been cutting through a lot of debaters today and has rekt from YT to CV.
btw Ventress
He'll fall, they always do.
Not sure if Ventress wins every time (the difference isn't too big and lightsaber combat can be quite random), but she definitely wins at least a solid majority. Qui-Gon's powerful assaults, greater knowledge of the environment and superior knowledge of her form (as compared to her knowledge on his, which is still not inconsiderable) definitely provides a moderate to heavy challenge, but Ventress' greater skill, power, and nimbleness afford her the victory for a reliably solid majority.
Ventress has a better track record against better opponents overall, so I'd say jinn gives her fits but she takes a solid if not nearly overwhelming majority.
Not sure if Ventress wins every time
Agreed, Qui-Gon should defintely take a couple of rounds due to his perfect knowledge on Ventress' makashi and his physical strength advantage over Asajj, who has inferior skills in comparison with Count and by Luminara's description, her version is sloppy and unrefined.
That being said, Asajj is faster and even though she isn't skilled as Count, she still has enough skill to take down the likes of Tholme or Kit Fisto, she would take a majority but she isn't winning everytime.
Ventress
Yes, more skilled. She stalemated S3 Anakin whose inferior AOTC version gave Dooku grief, pressed Windu pre-prime, stomped K'Kruhk, while pre-prime Kenobi in Cestus Deception- Kenobi's AOTC version gave Dooku a nice little workout.
Certainly more powerful. Ventress collapsed ceilings with no dark-side training, was superior to S3 Anakin in the Force. ragdolled a Jedi Master, sent Savage sliding back with a Force Push, and nearly crushed Fay, an AOTC Kenobi+ level foe's heart.
Force wise, it is hard to rank qui gon. He basically has no showings of raw power, but he was renowned to have a perfect mastery of the force:
He was outmatched and he knew it. He did not have Qui-Gon's perfect mastery of the Force.

That's a pretty nice accolade, yeah, but Ventress' power feats are just... better.
Ventress can be more powerful, but I don't think ventress can force dominate him,
Dominating him is exaggerating, but beating him with TK or doing serious damage is a strong possibility.
given Maul didn't land a single force hit on him.
Ventress abuses the Force much, much more than TPM Maul, and Maul not using TK =/= Maul being incapable of doing serious damage to Jinn with TK. Heck, given Maul was equal to his old TPM self as of Sith Hunters and Death Sentence, TPM Maul should be capable of ragdolling Jinn. He just didn't because he didn't need to nor was he inclined to do so. Ventress, however, uses the Force frequently.
Aotc anakin pressed Dooku for few blows,
More like, the entire fight, with Dooku having to catch Anakin off-guard in order to win.
then Dooku disarmed quickly him of one blade and anakin had to exploit a darker point of the room to resist a bit more.
No he didn't. With two blades (thus having his strength advantage negated to a degree) and no dark point in the room, Anakin did this:
A green blade cut in under it, stopping it with a shower of sparks.
The Count reacted immediately, backpedaling and turning to face Anakin. "That's brave of you, boy, but foolish. I would've thought you'd have learned your lesson."
"I'm a slow learner," Anakin replied coolly, and he came on then, so suddenly, so powerfully, his green blade whirling with such speed that he seemed almost encased in green light.
For the first time, Count Dooku lost his little confident smile. He had to work furiously to keep Anakin's blade at bay, dodging more than parrying. He tried to step out to the side, but stopped as if he had hit a wall, and his eyes widened a bit when he realized that this young Padawan, in the midst of that assault, had used the Force to block his exit.
"You have unusual powers, young Padawan," he sincerely congratulated. His little grin returned, and gradually Dooku put himself back on even footing with Anakin, trading thrust for slash and forcing Anakin to dodge and parry as often as he tried to strike.
"Unusual," Dooku said again. "But not enough to save you this time!" He came on hard, thinking to drive Anakin back and off balance as he had driven Obi-Wan back. But Anakin held his ground stubbornly, his green blade flashing left, right, and down so forcefully and precisely that none of Dooku's attacks got through.
Off to the side, Obi-Wan understood that it couldn't hold. Anakin was expending many times the energy of the efficient Dooku, and as soon as he tired...
Obi-Wan knew that he had to do something. He tried to come forward, but winced and fell back, in too much pain. As he collected his thoughts, he reached out with the Force instead, grabbing at his lightsaber and pulling it into his grasp. "Anakin!" he called, and he tossed the young Padawan the blade. Anakin caught it without ever breaking the flow of his fighting, turning it under and igniting it immediately, putting it into the swirling flow.
Obi-Wan watched in admiration as Anakin worked the two blades in perfect harmony, spinning them over and about with blinding speed and precision.
And he watched with similar feelings the working of Count Dooku's red lightsaber, flashing ahead and back with equal precision, picking off attack after attack and even countering once or twice to interrupt the flow of Anakin's barrage.
Obi-Wan's heart leapt in hope as Anakin charged forward suddenly, bringing his green blade over his shoulder and across, down at the Count. Obi-Wan understood immediately, even before he noted Anakin's blue blade coming up and over the other way- the green blade would push the Count's lightsaber out of the way, clearing the path for the victorious strike!
But Dooku retracted impossibly fast, and Anakin's down-cutting green blade hit nothing but air.
Dooku stabbed straight ahead, intercepting the blue blade. The Count's hand worked up inside and over, then back around with a sudden twist, launching the blue lightsaber from Anakin's grasp. Dooku went on the offensive immediately, driving the surprised and off-balance Anakin back.
Anakin fought hard to regain his fighting posture, but Dooku was relentless, thursting repeatedly, keeping the young Padawan stumbling backward.
And then he stopped, suddenly, and almost on reflex, Anakin turned back on him, roaring and slashing hard.
"No!" Obi-Wan cried.
Dooku stabbed ahead and slashed out suddenly, intercepting not Anakin's green blade, but the Padawan's arm, at the elbow. Half of Anakin's arm flew to the side, his hand still gripping the lightsaber.
Anakin dropped to the ground, grabbing his severed arm in agony.
Attack of the Clones novel
Which is much, much better than "pressing Dooku for a few blows."
And in S3 ventress was driven back when anakin had both hands free.
Yes, because she wanted that to happen. She had the clone DNA, now she needed to get the hell out of there before literally the entire Republic and Jedi Order got onto her. Ventress also didn't have that much difficulty throughout the fight.
Sabers wise, qui gon > TPM kenobi
Ventress=TCW S3 Anakin>AOTC Anakin is better.
He was a challenge for tpm Maul :
Not really, he wasn't.
Rapidly spinning his lightsaber, he anticipated their moves with ease. Having expected a greater challenge from Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, he felt even more disgusted by them.
Wrath of Darth Maul
TPM novel agrees with this, given how it depicts Maul being the team's superior by quite a margin. Qui-Gon isn't a challenge for TPM Maul.
Hard pressed tpm Maul,
I've debunked this quite some times, the last one being yesterday, so I'm not really in the mood to do it again.
@thesithmaster: why compare Ventress to Dooku indirectly with the use of AOTC Anakin when she actually fought Dooku in TCW and got absolutely humiliated.(not that Qui-Gon would do better).
Ventress wins here.
Qui Gon every single time. Superior accolades, more physically powerful, plus he has mastered Makashi which gives him an edge against her. Qui Gon hard-pressing TPM Maul in a lengthy duel is more impressive than anything Ventress has done, moreover Qui Gon even has inferiors (Anoon Bondara) that can hold off an all-out TPM Maul for a good amount of time. No chance for Ventress here.
Not to mention the fact that this duel takes place on a LS nexus seals the deal.
Ventress quite easily for the reasons already mentioned. Jinn lacks raw force feats to contend and Ventress stealmating the likes of Annakin mid CW or beating Grevious with eas is better than whatever poor performance Jinn had against pre-prime Maul. He's a tier below her tbh, Ventress is in the prime Maul, prime Kenobi, Savage Opress, pre-DS Annakin tier.
@gaoron: Are you suggesting Ventress is above TPM Maul? Can't say I agree at all. And Savage has no business being on Prime Maul, Prime Kenobi and Pre DS Anakin level. Savage is probably on Ventress level, both whom are below TPM Maul.
Also Qui Gon Jinn has accolades suggesting he is one of the best duelists in the council. Him losing to Maul doesn't lower him or make him look bad at all. It only bumps TPM Maul to a higher level than what most people had him on before.

Yeah, she could beat him for a small majority. What TPM Maul did to suggest otherwise? Maybe you know some showings that I don't know about.
Savage and Ventress are in the lower end of the tier compared to the other 3 yes but they are still a tier above the likes of Grevious who Ventress low diffed. Jinn would have a hard time and probably would lose to Grevious imo.
