great battle, going off movie feats I think priest wins, vampires are faster and more powerful than gangsters lol
With prep Punisher stands a chance. He's got access to a LOT of high artillery (bazooka's etc..). Very close.
@Joygirl: true, those weapons were designed to take down very quick, dangerous foes. I think Priest's weapons were more high tech, and he displayed better feats of physical prowess. He is faster and more agile than movie Punisher.

But remember, priest was specially trained to fight them, knew their attack patterns and had weapons to kill them. He was only a little bit tougher than the cowboy guy. ^_^
The cowboy guy, as you call him, was a former Priest, turned into a vampire.
Nooo, not Black Hat, I was talking about the sheriff.
Oooh man, this is quite the battle. I'd say Punisher would have a better chance with prep if it were the Jane incarnation. Seemed more resourceful and tactical while Stevenson was flat out brutal and relentless.
I can see Punisher taking a majority due to Priest being limited to a confined area and with the prep given, Frank should have the potential to keep Priest on his toes.
@Joygirl: I have to disagree. Thomas Jayne took on Henry Huck (who was a complete badass), was pretty banged up, and then pursued to take on the Russian! Not only that, he beat the Russian by throwing fryer grease into his face. Now to me, that's badass. After taking a beating that would render most men dead or unconscious, he continues to hide in his garage, and then when most of the bad guys are gone, he kills a guy with a paper cutter to the face! Shortly after this, he takes on an entire mob and creates some of the most clever and brutal deaths between both movies (making that kid hold that trip mine with an outstretched arm like that, tying the trip mine to the champagne glass, that's 100% BA!).
Not to mention the interrogation scene with the popsickle. Plus, he tricked the head mobster into killing his wife and best friend (rather than doing it himself). We may have to agree to disagree. Yeah, Stevenson was more straightforward, but Thomas Jayne was way more brutal. He didn't just kill guys, he really punished them! :P

@Floopay: Ya got me. :P I mostly meant Stevenson was tougher in a gunfight, those machines and whatnot. The first (second) movie was significantly better. As for prep conditions? Punisher can get what he wants from his van... Priest can get whatever he needs from the church if they'll give it to him.

Oh most definitely. Where Thomas Jane used cunning, tactics, prep, and knowledge of his opponents to his advantage, Stevenson used...well...guns and brute force. :P
Though Jane defeated the physically most intimidating opponent between the two movies (The Russian fight scene out of the comics was amazing, might be the best 2 minutes of any comic movie).

I think that Priest's enhanced physicals would take the win here, in a random encounter. But 2 days of prep? Castle showed to have a good sense of prep in the Punisher sequel, and while I was impressed with Priest’s fighting ability and physicality; he did not seem to be the best in organizing a strategy, and instead seemed to be more reactive rather than proactive. And, given the amount of weaponry that Castle has access to, and the narrow-ness of the location…
Punisher FTW! In a fairly close fight.
Priest should take this. He was basically the Priest of Priests, and hung with a vampire priest H2H which is a pretty damn impressive feat. The prep is the only real thing that makes punisher have an advantage but priest is so fast and acurrate with his knives/stars/whatever that any uncovered area of punisher will be hit. Once the injuries start punisher goes down.
If they both get two days prep, I hate to say it, but I'd have to say the Priest. The guy kills vampires not humans. If he didn't know the Punisher was coming, Frank Castle would come up with some really badass way of killing the Priest. All that aside, the 1989 Punisher movie was scarier and more hardcore than priest, or the other Punisher movies for that matter. Kind of wish you'd have pulled a graphic from that movie... Interesting match-up nonetheless.
Priest is a better fighter, he's much more skilled from what i recall, but with 2 days of prep for punisher it could go either way.
