Capable of, but he never has. Therefore it's not in character action for him. Characters in these forums will fight as they always do, not to the absolute best possible way of them to when they've never shown they can do that.
It's like saying a normal human can do everything Batman can because he's physically capable of it even if he's never shown the ability to do so.

Depends on starting distance. If Zod's can see X from the start, he might be able to get a punch in, or at the very least create a shockwave/use heat vision from a distance. If there's any reasonable distance between the two, X takes it pretty handily.

For one thing it isn't stated in the OP that Zod knows what he can do.
And characters don't always do the logical thing. If he doesn't speedblitz, He won't speedblitz.

Zod's fighting speed was not nearly as fast as everyone is saying in this thread. He could travel fast, but he never did so while fighting. At least not fast enough to speed blitz someone who just has to shut them down with a thought. Xavier wins every time.
