Powergirl vs Supergirl

yeah, they had a massive blowout when they first met...

seeing as they are genetically identical... which shouldn't happen... something in my supergirl sense is tingling about further plot there...

anyway, when they touch it makes their powers go all wonky and they attack each other with no good reason...

each time it's happened Green Lantern has separated them before anything bad happened, though Superman has managed to make Powergirl bleed with a punch, and Powergirl hasn't drawn blood on Supergirl yet...

i'll withhold judgment as they are basically the same person until i know something more

lol, well originally she was the Daughter of Superman and Lois...

then she was a time traveler of Kryptonian and Atlantian origin (Superman and Lori Lemaris perhaps?)

then she was a different Kara from Earth 2...

now... after the Crisis and 52... i have no idea... i've lost track trying to keep all the Supergirl's origin's straight in my head, Powergirl just slipped through the cracks.

I think DC has no clue how to straighten out Powergirl's origin and are just hoping it somehow comes to them while they write.

that sounds about right from what i've read of it so far...

though i have an inkling it's going to tie in with the new Booster Gold series somehow...

for some reason, i'm not sure what... maybe the DC writers got some exceedingly good crack this month... they have decided to let Booster Gold play with time again... only this time they're taking him back and letting him play with Zero Hour...

now, the first time Zero Hour happened it gave everyone a head ache... you couldn't read the thing without a bottle of whiskey and a tub of anadin... this time? with Booster Gold playing with the mix?

hell no...

and for those who forgot... Power Girl was mysteriously pregnant during Zero Hour... but wasn't when the dust settled...

Although the plot lines need to be resolved, there are some power level based argumanets to be made.

Supergirl is apparently as powerful as Superman (according to Batman).

Powergirl has always been inferior in power levels to Superman.

Supergirl should therefore be able to overcome Powergirl.

Supergirl may be as powerful as Superman but that doesn't translate into an automatic victory. Powergirl has a mountain of experience and has gone toe to toe with Supes before.

I can agree with that.

I thought they were sticking with Powergirl being Kal-L's cousin and that her confusing origins before Infinite Crisis were due to that.

If supergirl and Powergirl are both Kryptonians shouldn't the one who has been in our solar system the longest be the more powerful of the two. Who has been "here" the longest?

powergirl... by linear time...

but Supergirl was caught in Suspended animation being fed artificial solar radiation since Krypton exploded, so she's had the same amount of exposure as Superman in theory...
