Any reasons as to why?

The Phoenix Five should, in theory, have the power to win this. However I can't really remember them doing anything hugely impressive, granted I read AvX a long time ago and haven't picked it up since so I could be forgetting something. As it stands however, I don't remember any feats from them that would let them take on Norrin on a good day, much less all of the Annihilators together.

@kingant27: Phoenix both round.

Round 1: only Wanda was able to hurt Phoenix in AvX, and I still wander why.

Round 2: mismatch. DP is above Galactus. I think I more or less emphasized that point in one of your other threads (but I might not be you, sorry in that case).

You should read (or read again probably) the classic issues with Phoenix.

Jean killed herself (and she should have never come back) to save the rest of the Universe.

The Sh'iar (that are aware of the PF since thousand of years) compared the Phoenix threat to the Galactus threat, and with the later only a few planets were lost form time to time, while with Phoenix its a much more global threat.

I have probably missed how the phoenix has evolved in the 2000s, but I have read AvX and all the relevant issues before 2000.

Here you are using Phoenix in battle like it was Rachel Summers with only a reminder of its power (IMO, of course)

DP fought a hungry Galactus I believe.

P5

R2 goes to Thanos.

R1 I'd still give it to Annihilators. Surfer+Quasar+BRB should be enough.

@kingant27: It was not DP but Rachel. A host with an incomplete control of the PF as it was shown during her fight against Necron (he had also a partial control of the PF but was already able to throw planets at her). Galactus wanted several times to kill the host of the PF because the evolution to the DF was a threat to is reality.

So any battle with DP and not involving abstract level fighter is going to he a mismatch.

For the P5, they would also easily win the round 2.

Now, they don't have a lot of feats and several inconstancies in their power level, so I understand the debate.

But it would also probably becomes a little bit too much speculative for my taste.

As powerful as the annihilators are, I don't see them taking on the P5, let alone Dark phoenix, even with Thanos help

The annihilators were fighting alongside abstracts and affecting some, the most impressive thing that was done was namor using one hand to flick rulk meters away without effort

Phoenix both rounds

Round 1 I think members of the Annihilators can can out some of the PHX5 members and vice versa, the problem the Annihilators will face is that the remaining PHX5 members will get their fallen comrades portion of the PHX Force making them stronger. It's like ice-skating up hill, it gets harder the further up you go.
