it says in the OP they are similarly sized. also kong took down three rexes at the same time. if they are the same size, i might give it to kong for versatility, however not sure if hong kong has enough buildings for kong to play around on.

Godzilla still wins.

Kong. He's smarter than Godzilla; so when their sizes are equalized I'd say he takes the victory. Smart enough to stay away from the atomic breath, and maneuverable enough to accomplish that.

This fight happened in the past, King won the American version and Godzilla the Japanese version if I remember correctly.

I think realistically Godzilla should beat Kong though.

No. It just comes in a form of blue fire and did nothing but destroy the MUTO's.

i seem to recall the girl muto taking a big hit from it and it didnt do much. Sure he Nuked her squishy bits in the end.

When Godzilla uses his atomic breathe on previous monsters it doesnt outright kill them everytime either.

@joeagentofhand1: I believe I only saw the American version but if that was myth then I guess I'll take your word for it. It was ridiculous though, all the sudden lightning turns Kong into the Hulk for some reason.

Even if theyre of similar size, Kong has nowhere near the durability of Godzilla here. Godzilla also has the atomic breath to rely on if digging his teeth into Kong doesnt work out. And as for Kong avoiding his atomic breath, its not like Kong is going to be using ranged weaponry or is small and agile enough to evade it. If sizes are equalised, nothing is stopping Godzilla from doing what he did to the MUTO to Kong.

Even a bigger King Kong wouldn't have Godzilla's ridiculous durability, and bigger Kong doesn't... You know, have feats.

Technically speaking Bigger Kong just collapses under his own weight because he can't possibly exist at that size given his displayed strength/durability in his movie.

Plus as others have said, atomic breath.

Not sure how this is even considered. What exactly can a giant ape do to a giant lizard thats fought different versions of itself, other alien monsters. Comics had different stories were its been to hell. In the films(Japs), mankind done created differ types weapons to it this giant lizard, and still survived it. Aside from killing 2 or three Tyrannosaurus, what else has King Kong done or been thru? Just Saying.

to my knowledge Godzilla's hide never took damage like at all in that movie. Godzilla should win with durability alone but since kong as yet doesn't have any quantifiable feats I hesitate to make assumptions on his strength and how it compares to Big G.

@zill0678: We can really only go off of power scaling to assume how strong a 100 foot Kong it.

However his large size would be a huge disadvantage as Legendary Godzilla trumps Kong in just about everything.

Godzilla destroys him and it's not even close. King Kong climbs on skyscrapers, Godzilla is as big as a skyscraper.
