@tron_bonne: He found the old lady trying to kill X-men, i mean how do you harm a ghost. Do we even know how Toby looks like, "he was old like grandma" that is all we know. He was never shown the movie was even scarybut the point remains, how on earth can u hurt a ghost specially sth that is so boring and not scary at all.

the stupid ghost wasnt limited to the house, it later turns out that the ghost was working for their grandma and is going to marry the little girl.. talk about h0rny ghosts :)

Best feat of ghost:

• Scaring few kids
• Pulling a little kid by her legs
• closing the cabinet door
• and i think that is it :)

I feel like the major reason that the X-Men take this is because of the White Queen. She could do some crazy stuff with that telepathy, so I feel like if the ghost does anything Emma could like mind-banish it or..something. I don't know how the ghost works in Paranormal Activity, I stopped watching after I was disappointed by the first movie.

Never been a believer of ghost myself, however i find it extremely unlikely that mutants will be able to fight off ghost.. how do you fight off something that is intangible but that can hurt you.

Ghost are astral beings?? man that toby was a product of black magic and frankly i have never seen a telepath fight or beat a ghost. To me it still sounds pretty iffy.

Yes but he is a regular human while Emma his a high tier telepath, who can easily detect Toby and mindrape...

Tobi didnt do jack, i think it was the grandmother who bent the boyfriend's back rather than tobi.

Emma has fought Shadow King on his home turf I doubt shes sweating some two bit demon who gets off on rattling furniture

Movie 1 and 2 has nothing to do with movie 3. They have completely different story.

From what I got from the story, grandmother used to practice black magic. Besides, let’s see what happened at the end of the movie, the guy got his back broken, and then the granddaughter comes and holds grand mother’s hand. After all this she then called Toby to come along and we hear a weird, funny sounding growl. So I was of the opinion that it was grandma who used black magic to harm the dude and toby was there watching, and now is happy because he gets to marry the little girl.

Shadow King isn't a demon. Blackheart is.

I have never heard the argument that ghost can be dragged into astral plane , to be this sounds a bit iffy , no disrespect intended.

The demon possesses Cyclops, and he vaporizes everyone before they know what is happening. When he wakes up, he realizes what happens, but every bone in his body is crushed before he can do anything. The X-Men are killed before they know what is going on. Fighting ghostly beings and demons isn't really their strong suit. They'd need Magik or even Moonstar to really know what's going on.

@Killemall: If you go by comic logic, anything with a conscious mind can be taken to the astral plane

I don't think we've ever seen a telepath take on a ghost or a demon with any success. Psylocke tried a few times during the battle versus the Adversary, but had no more success than any other energy wielder. Charles and Emma Frost were also unable to do anything to probe Illyana's thoughts due to her magical and demonic powers, so they fell flat, as well (she could be blasted though). And I agree that the issue is that a ghost isn't really composed of psionic energy. Hence the reason that all the superheroes (including Prof. X) go to Dr. Strange when they are dealing with something like this.

Or wins through forcefully levitating them in the air and folding their backs backwards.

Tobi's not even a ghost, assuming this is the same being we dealt with in the first movie, then it clearly states he's a demon, they even go into detail explaining the difference between the two in the first film

Yeah I mentioned this earlier in the thread...I doubt Toby is possessing Emma and she can just as easily give everyone mental protection from being possessed...

1. True but once someone is possessed then I see no reason why Emma couldn't give the Team mental protection. As skilled as she is I see this as no problem for her.
2. Unless Toby has telekinesis I don't see how he's gonna possess Emma's body especially if she changes into her diamond form...
