BL Spectre isn't the real Spectre, Parallax just freed the Spectre from Nekkron's control, and Spectre is a jobber anyway.

Parallax has since been in Brightest Day, Rebirth and Sinestro Corps War.

@CitizenBane: Though I do agree with most of your statement, I do think Spectre does job from time to time. Batkick for example. Still, he's one of the top tiers of DC and I do believe he's above the god of fear.

The Batkick is again out of context. On the next page, Spectre states that he let Batman kick him because he thought it would help him feel better, since the Spectre was going to incinerate a criminal and there was nothing Batman could do to stop him.

Did you forget the part in Rebirth where Parallax overthrew the Spectre's control and usurped control of Hal's body? Or the part where he was effortlessly punking a dozen Lanterns at the same time?

And by what logic is the Serpent at skyfather levels? He doesn't have one feat placing him at that level. Not one, single, feat.

Easy there champ, your blowing Parallax into epic proportions. That and using different versions of said entity in various individuals interchangeably. And BL Spectre...

That wasn't exactly the most powerful incarnation of the spectre and not just because multiple Lanterns were knocking him around. And even then Parallax burns himself out fighting him if I recall. As for the Spectre being a jobber, people just get sick and tired of the often seen "The Spectre loses again!" in just about every major fight he has these days, at least while hosted. It is an absolute bore.

Embodiment of fear means what again? DC had the "embodiment" of Willpower get beat down led pipes and tombstones. But you are right, the Serpent is lacking feats, but BN Parallax is hardly any better.

With the Odinsword and some whacky armor Odin gave him, he also died in the process of doing so. Ion got beat by a raging teenangstathon Superboy Prime.

Kinda he was, problem is with the Serpent there isn't much of a reason why Odin couldn't mop the floor with him. This all binding spell he did to him seemed to imply Odin wanted him to remain alive for whatever reason, although dragging his corpse to Asgard and then sealing it off post Fear Itself raises some eyebrows as to if this is the end of the Serpent. Doesn't help that death in general for the gods in Marvel doesn't stick very easily at all.

Thor can't beat Odin like that. Thor had a magical bond / prophecy going for him that guaranteed his win on the Serpent from the start. Not to mention all that equipment is Odin's, he could just as easily have it stop functioning / have it pin Thor down just as easily as he did with Mjolnir, however if Thor did hit him with that sword he probably could put Odin down, give that sword's history of just because ridiculous. Not many things in Marvel can cut up Celestials like butter.

Couldn't the serpent just absorb all of parallax's power. Fear makes the serpent stronger, so wouldn't Parallax, the very embodiment of fear, serve as an unlimited power supply for the serpent. Just a thought...

What seems more powerful to you, a being who needs fear to just survive or a being who's the embodiment of fear itself?

Never thought you did, but the Spectre makes for a poor measuring stick given his power fluctuations. Ion will never be as powerful as it used to be when Kyle used it. But I do agree with the sentiments on Prime.

Not sure what host or entity has to do anything with it.

I disagree about Spectre's alleged jobbing because in my opinion, Spectre losing to just about ANYONE is "jobbing." But that's just my opinion. He's still really powerful.

There's still fear on Earth at all points of time. It's likely that's what kept him alive. He simply increased it.

He doesn't have feats but he said that he is powerful enough to slaughter Odin, Mephisto also said that Serpent can tear Odin apart.

Even with Serpent's hypes and a$$ kissing from Mephisto/other character's, Parallax is simply too powerful. That's it.
