1) Now this is a hard one to call, but i'm gonna say that Orion is the better fighter between the two. An he has the Astro-Force (remember it's his god-power, he just normally relies on his harness and gauntlets to channel it b/c of his anger issues upsetting the balance he needs) and it impresses me more than what Thanos has. Orion has none or few energy projection powers himself, while Thanos' EM is massive beyond measurement. Being stronger and a better fighter will do nothing against someone who can dump you three dimensions away.

Orion's physical strength is on par with that of Darkseid and is sufficient for him to engage in hand to hand combat with the likes of Superman. As such his physical strength is far greater than that of Thanos. His durability is sufficient to also withstand blows from Darkseid without serious damage. Should he be damaged, he has a relative rapid healing factor. Orion's reaction speed is far greater than a human and is great enough for him to easily combat beings like Superman and Wonder Woman.
His astro force harness is virtually indestructible and enables him at great speeds and to project the astro force, to accomplish great devastation. The power of these force beams have shown to be strong enough to knock both Darkseid and Superman for a loop. On a broader setting and from orbit, Orion once employed the force beams to destroy a large percentage of the planet's surface. Orion has also used the astro force occasionally to block the energy projection of others (the astro force used as either a beam or as a forcefield), like the Omega effect of his father, Darkseid and Superman's heat vision. Orion has been extensively trained in hand to hand combat for centuries and has got to practice these skills on battlefields for thousands of years. Although he ihas been shown to lose his anger while in battle, this is not always the case. His main focus of hatred and thus provocation to lose his anger is Darkseid and so there is a good chance he will remain calmer in this battle as it does not involve his father. The last piece of tech that needs to mentioned for Orion is his Mother Box, a living computer connected to the source. The computer can proyect Orion's mind from Thanos's psionic powers and has shown great ability to block and redirect energy used against the wearer. They can also manipulate local gravity, augment the healing of the wearer (sustain them past the the point of death in some cases) and open boom tubes amongst its many abilities. I am tempted to believe that their energy manipulative powers might protect Orion from the Power Cosmic effects, at least in the short term.
I do believe that Thanos will no doubt have access to significant tech resouces as well, and some of these are summonable via teleportation to him. We have seen several instances of him using advanced tech to overcome particular foes but I have no clear idea of what he will carry as 'standard gear' - except it will be exceptionally advanced.
1. Thanos wins due to his power cosmic ability. With this he can manipulate the 'substance' of Orion. 2. I'm tempted to give it to Orion as the Mother Box and Astro Harness are vastly powerful tech but Thanos's abilities would enable him to buy time to access all his tech stores to use one of a million weapons to claim the victory but he will need to move quickly as Orion's firepower output is enormous. 3. Orion quite handily.

Thanos also slapped a powered champion around. pimp slapped the hulk and drax at once and also easily beat in betweener with a single slap. in the Infinity gauntlet saga he held his own against earth's heroes without using his powers.
