@jayskee: What would make him go for Polaris first? What makes you think she can't defend herself from TK? She has before. What makes you think any part of that statement you just made is true?

The same way Magento could defend himself from Jean's TK with his shields.
Alternately: Jean senses Hellion is a TK user and engages him in combat to keep him busy. Polaris feels the metal in X-23 and puts her down, or uses her claws against her teammates. Scott has hit Northstar and Quicksilver with his optic beam, so he takes out Surge, then puts down Elixer. Dust attempts to go on the offensive, but Warren scatters her by kicking up a wind. By this point Hellion has been taken down in a group effort by Jean, Scott, and Polaris while Hank has kept Rockslide busy. The X-men then take him out in any of a variety of ways.
Jean connects the team using her TP and Scott directs them. He is an excellent strategist and would have a plan almost immediately upon seeing what each of the mutants can do, or upon Jean scanning their minds to find out what they can do.

I didn't say she was; there powers work in the same way. Scott is quicker on the draw than she is, and has tagged people who are faster. Dust can't touch Polaris, or Jean for that matter because of their magnetism/TK barriers. Rockslide can't even land a hit on Beast.
new xmen may not work as well together as the orginal x men but the new x men power levels are higher than the orginals x men's and should be able to overwelm them
