K, considering Hulk's newer powers, and Onslaught's awesomeness as form 2, who do you think could win in a showdown between these two?
Onslaught Vs. Planet Hulk, Hulk

stupid question, but how touch is the hulks skin?
i mean is it leather tough?
i've seen him bleed in issues, but then on other occasions he's been compaired to superman touch skin...
how tough is his skin?
and can the dude survive without oxygen?
as far as i know, the hulk is still anaerobic, so he'd need to breathe and wouldn't be able to survive in a vacuum...
M
Is not a stupid question. And he has a special type of lung make-up that allows him to breath under water, so he might be able to hold his breath. As far as I know, his skin is fairly thick and heavy, but he heals from every blow, so I don't know if it matters at how thick his skin is. And why are we talking about vaccumes again?
His skin is strong but it can be pierced or cut with enough force. Deadpool once impaled him on a pipe (but Hulk was weakened). Black Panther has cut him up, but then again, he has special claws. Dunno. It's tough but not unbreakable. Not much an answer but there it is. He needs to breathe but he has a gland that makes his own weird oxygen out of adrenaline or something like that.

You'd think he has to breathe yet in the last issue, he's sitting outside, on top of the spaceship bringing them back to Earth. Don't know if there was some atmosphere surrounding the ship or if he was just holding his breathe as he fought those aliens.
Didnt it take all the Avengers and X-Men and Fantastic 4 plus the Hulk to beat Onslaught the first time?
ok... he doesn't need to breathe and his skin it tough, but not at superman level..
by vacuum, i ment pure vacuum... as in space... could hulk survive a purevacuum where displacement would cause the air in his lungs to be pulled from his vody as velocities exceeding the speed of sounds, ruptering his body in the process?
it's what happenes if a human steps into a vacuum, not pretty

whaoh... hi g-dude...
so can he survive space or not?
M
Yup, and a few extras, but Hulks seems to be super sized this time, so I though I'd ask. And hey G-Man, I'm having trouble with my account, can you help me out?
He's humanoid. He's got bodily functions and stuff, it's just significantly altered and capable of adapting to pretty much anything.

definition of human is "a anaerobic species that possesses all 5 signs of sentient life"...
think it's a bit more long winded than that in the dictionary but thats about it lol
hulk it not anaerobic and i'm reasonably sure he doesn't possess at least one of the signs for sentiant life...
M
I said humanoid, a being having human form. Hulk's form may be over-muscled and green, but it is human-like.
I think you have that backwards. Anaerobic means you don't need air. Also, Hulk does need air like a human, he just makes his own.
What are the 5 signs of sentient life? I would assume Hulk shows at least some of them seeing that he is sentient.
Something like thought, and most sentient beings show signs of being stupid, but I'm not sure if it's in the 'five.'
-000 says:
"I believe Onslaught could defeat Hulk. Onslaught has extreme mind powers. As someone said above, he could probably just shut off Hulk's mind."
Yeah, that was me.
Buckshot says:
"I said humanoid, a being having human form. Hulk's form may be over-muscled and green, but it is human-like. I think you have that backwards. Anaerobic means you *don't* need air. Also, Hulk *does* need air like a human, he just makes his own. What are the 5 signs of sentient life? I would assume Hulk shows at least some of them seeing that he *is* sentient."
eep, sorry my bad lol
5 signs of sentiant life
Reproduce
Obtain and use energy
Grow, develop, and die
Respond to the environment
Aerobic or Anaerobic respiration
(taken from uni website)
M
does he actually reproduce or does his bidy cells just replicate to heal himself?
reproduction and replication are two entirely different things...
i was sure i saw in one boox he said that due to the radiation and mutation it was impossible for him to have children... don't quote me on that because it was a long time ago...
M
He got someone pregnant just a little while ago. She (and the baby) died in an explosion, but she was pregnant.
Here's a page from that issue (he's fighting some aliens but is picturing that he's trashing the Illuminati). Again, this is on top of the spaceship cruising through space. I never knew he could do that.
Buckshot says:
"He got someone pregnant just a little while ago. She (and the baby) died in an explosion, but she *was* pregnant."
Here's Mrs. Hulk.
In the issue right before (I think) Planet Hulk he was sent into space to fight a robot. He won (of course) and was there a long time without oxygen.
This page came a little before he lost his mask.
octagon_freak says:
"Hulk can't have children because his mate wouldn't survive."
Someone please tell me how people can just throw out blanket statements like this? What prompts a person to discard all logic, make statement based on zero evidence, treat their statement as absolute truth, and then get all upset when someone (with logic I might add) challenges them on the facts?
Do they teach critical thinking in schools any longer?
Gee, sorry, that was a joke my good man. And I'm not treating that as truth, and I won't back it up in an argument.
Deep Blue says:
"How could you shut the Hulk's mind off when he's mindless??. He's madly lethal and would response to any of Onslaught's attack with a killer jab!... at least that's what I believe"
Mindless doesn't equate "no mind." He still has the ability to think, even in his most severe berserker rage. As long as there's a brain in the head, a telepath of the level of Onslaught can shut it down.
Yes, this is clearly demonstrated in Onslaught Reborn 3, as he switches back and forth from Thor and Hulk, but not Planet Hulk, Hulk, but he's not even up to full power as of yet. We're talking form two, or at least I hope we are still, and everyone had to have mental blocks put on them from Onslaught, even Savage Beatdown, you die now mindless hulk.
from the onslaught archive.
His physical strength was also shown to be astonishingly high; so much so he was able to go toe-to-toe in a physical fight with the Hulk (or more precisely, the "Savage" Hulk), after the Hulk's mind had been blanked and his strength and rage set to limitless levels, using the mental powers of Jean Grey.
that was when he first came out , and pretty much fought majority of the superheros.
I guess I feel as though, taking all versions of Hulk into account, he'd get pretty pissed the moment he feels Onslaught trying to dink around in his mind. With limitless rage, he'd eventually reach a critical mass beyond the psychic ability of Onslaught.
Hulk did break his "unbreakable" armor before.
I don't know. These "vs" discussions are a lot of fun, but they always degenerate into a pile of "he wins/she wins" posts, mixed with scans of the various evidences from comic and cartoon lore. Then there's the "only the old versions count" groups versus the more open-minded groups.
In all instances, it's never just a 1-on-1 fight, with plenty of prep time, no time limit, and unbiased writing. There's always some other motive, some war, some distraction, chance vs. prep, different writers telling each tale, enchancements, etc.
