ONE PIECE BATTLE: Crocodile vs Lucci

I've always felt Crocodile as a villain was used almost too early in the series. He's always portrayed as such an intelligent, menacing badass, but then I remember how all it took was base Luffy right after entering the Grand Line to kick his butt. By comparison, it took Gear Second Luffy using all of his will power to beat Lucci, but maybe Croc's logia and awesomeness can even that out? I'm just curious to hear if the OP experts think Croc can stand up to Lucci, because as tough as Lucci was, looking at their characters, Croc just seems like he should be the more capable of the two.

So, for a scenario assume Croc and Lucci randomly stumble upon each other at some point and decide that they hate each other and want to fight. Who would win?

Lucci only has Rokushiki, not Haki. He can't do anything to Croc

I think part of the debate is whether Lucci can figure out how to harm him or not. He was a pretty perceptive guy so who knows.

@nickzambuto: Crocodile was defeated by pure PIS. The fact that Oda had Crocodile bring Luffy to near death two times, not defeat, nearly killed the main character twice in the same arc is proof of it. And the fact that Crocodile didn't just turn that entire temple to sand and bury Luffy is even more proof. Why would he go to h2h where Luffy has an advantage? That makes no sense for someone as smart as he was.

I think it was obscenely clear Crocodile was above Luffy's pay grade at that time.

Croc stomps, Lucci can't hurt him at all.

Lucci lacks haki so there is no way he can defeat Croco boy.

Not sure if lucci could figure out the water weakness. He's better in almost every stat, but I don't see him winning here.

If they are fighting during the rain, Lucci wins, otherwise probably Croc.

@nickzambuto: I thought about that, but since a battleground isn't specified, we don't know what resources Lucci has to keep Croc at bay.

He could maybe pull off what Luffy did by bleeding over his hands, but Croc fought in Marineford against some pretty heavy hitters; barring Alabasta he just seemed to be out of Lucci's weight class.

Lucci doesn't have a way of touching Crocodile. And as for your earlier statement, I think Crocodile was great as a villain. He was the first actual bad guy to defeat Luffy, twice no less.

Crocodile was beaten by base Luffy

All he has to do is douse Crocodile with water.

If Rob Lucci has prior knowledge, he stomps.

I'd guess Crocodile got huge buffs, but even Alabasta would be debatable, imo. I'll take him.
