So I am reading nova, marvel now.

I see Kid Nova going so fast he space jumps and somehow ends up in another part of space...

How fast is this compared to flash speeds?

The fastest I've seen from New 52 Flash is running at escape velocity. He can actually go faster, but has to increase mass to keep from drifting out to space.

Then there's him outrunning the Omega Beams...

@batmanfanboy: A Nova Centurion with standard power-set has march 3 speed, so Flash is faster.

Nova isn't faster. Barry in the New 52 has been able run at nearly the Speed of Light.

@dondave: The speed of light is slow just so everyone knows this,it is just very long lasting in existence.

It takes Hundreds of thousands of years for the light of a dying star to travel across space so we from earth can see it,Nova jumped from 1 part of space to the other in 1 second.

just to put it in perspective.

I just wanted to know if flash was doing his time warp feats yet

@batman242: sooo is nova faster atm?

Maybe. Flash, like I said earlier can go faster than escape velocity, which is Mach 34. How fast did Nova go exactly?

@waezi2: This isn't a nova centurion.

These are black novas or "Super novas"

@batman242: Multiple times throughout his series. It was the focus of one it arcs, whenever he ran near the Speed of light he seemed to create wormholes in time.

@dondave: it looks like he's opening stargates without knowing it. A standard ability in the Nova arsenal.

All Nova members can easily top escape velocity and hit Mach 50+ in combat. Just an FYI.

@dondave: As I recall it, the wormholes were because of Turbine. He'd open them only when he saw/sensed that Barry was using the energy from the Speed Force.

@batmanfanboy: He is Supernova level? Does that mean he carry the Nova Force like Garthan Saal and Rich Rider, the former Supernovas?

I don't think so, he was rather easily dealt with by BRB in his last issue. And is he really flying that fast or is he using jumping through hyperspace?

Of course in fight speed Flash is faster anyway.

That could explain it. Nova centurions CAN jump through hyperspace by the use of star-gates.

@dondave:

Superhuman Speed: By channeling the Nova Force properly, Rider can grant himself the ability to run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete. While the upper limit of his running speed isn't known, he can at least run several hundred miles an hour. He can move at speeds faster than light

http://marvel.wikia.com/Richard_Rider_(Earth-616)

Put it this way: if Mach 1 is somewhere at 344 mph, Mach of speed of light would be:

186,000 mph/344 mph.

Calculate, then the result is the Mach.

I think it's somewhere at 5,000+.

He can fight way higher than mach 50 the, that was a under calculation on my end.

One of a novas best feats without using the Nova force,he is not even stressing this level of speed and he is attacking here.

Traveling at point 6 superluminal.

Superluminal is faster than speed of light, point 6 would be 6 times faster than that.

I didn't even know nova was this fast until I looked it up my self.

The only thing stopping him from altering time is the fact there is no real time in space.

@dondave: Superluminal definition is faster than speed of light and without using Nova force or trying.

point 6 superluminal would normally be slower than speed of light but do to the fact by definition it already faster than speed of light. saying point 6 doesn't negate the fact he is going Superluminal.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superluminal_motion

it's comic books dude...some people can be faster/fight faster than flash it's ok lol

Had it bee under the speed of light then they would of said point 6 at the speed of light.

Your calculations are off, Mach 1 is ~340 Meters per second or ~761 mph

and @dondave is right, he's flying 60% of the speed of light. 1.0 Superluminal is the speed of light, anything over that would be faster. If he was travelling 6 times the speed of light, it would have said 6.0 (600%) Superluminal.

Not .06 (sixty percent).

The only way he travels FTL is through Stargates.

@sovereign91001: well if that's true then regardless. the fact he was .6 below superluminal without nova force or trying means he can go faster than light which explains why it says so in his bio.

He can go FTL through stargates only, he doesn't have any non Star Gate FTL feats. And he was using the Nova Force, anytime he uses his abilities he uses the Nova Force.

@sovereign91001: Nova force is where he can get his power from but it comes at percentages of power.

Without the helmet holding him back he became one of the strongest marvel characters.

He wasn't using much nova force in the scan if at all any.

But ok,don't tell me.

He couldn't control the whole Nova Force without the Worldmind and even with all that power, he was still below say the Silver Surfer tier, I'd put him in the mid-herald tier probably.

Anywho, stuff like that is one of the reasons most people on the battle boards will tell you those bio's are bunk.
