@kingant27: once again. Not all white lanterns are omnipotent, yet Hal became the leader of the white lanterns and god a ring that merged with the God of DC, the Entity.
nova corps vs the green lantern corps
The strongest Nova (Richard Rider) outclasses all the Green Lanterns. But the Green Lantern Corps have numerous more highly skilled and powerful members than the Novas.
Richard Rider is a beast, but he can't singlehandedly beat Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, and Hal Jordan by himself.
I think the fodder basically evens out, but the heavy hitters in the GL are too much.
Green Lanterns even individually are much more powerful than an individual Nova corps member
GL stomp
By the way in nova vol.4 worldmind/ego was recruiting thousands of humans and aliens to join the nova corps.
For a short time in nova corps history the nova's out numbers the green lantern corps. All the new recruits were Centurions but not well trained.
Looking at the current marvel powergrid and abilities for nova sam and nova prime rider they are are more powerful then any of earth lanterns for example from the main earth.
The only lantern more powerful is then them is rebooted alan scott from earth 2.
He is more powerful then superman by the way.
That's the supermen from earth 2, kal and val-zod and main dc universe superman as well.
Green Lantern Corps wins out decisively. Both are trained to fight as a unit and individually, but the power ring is more versatile in terms of what it enables the user can do for both offense and defense.
It's hard to compare Marvel vs DC characters evenly, since by design DC makes their characters inherently more god-like in terms of their powers and abilities.
(e.g. In the Cosmic Odyssey miniseries, John Stewart's power ring enabled him to survive an explosion that causes a supernova even though he was stunned/unconscious and not using his will to create the force field)
All of dc characters are not overpowered.
Some are and some are not.
Just like marvel.
Marvel has more powerful superheroes then dc because they have more superheroes if you look at the list from both comicbook companies.

not quite sure where people get this idea that DC characters are over-powered. Marvel has overpowered characters too. Both of a really powerful guys, and both have seemingly average guys.

Marvel tends to focus more on the superheroes that are not overpowered in media and in comics on average then DC but of course marvel does have many over powered superheroes too.
Marvel has really more overpowered characters othen dc,but do not get as much focus to the mainstream as dc characters on average but that's changing.
Marvel has more overpowered gods and cosmic types then dc.
There are many marvel characters that are overpowered and alot that are not and Marvel has more characters then dc.
Someone in a youtube comment section by way said marvel has more overpowered superheroes as well and he said one of the other reasons is that marvel has more alternate universes .So there are varied reason why marvel has more overpowered characters.

Marvel Multiverse
If the numbers were equal, nova corps would win, but since the gl outnumber the nova's they win
True.
By the way when i was talking about dc may have more overpowered top tier superheroes then marvel i was talking about the dc main universe vs the main marvel universe only.
The marvel main universe has more overpowered characters however then the dc main universe.
If you add the marvel alternate universes with the main marvel universe and add the dc alternate universe with the dc main universe then marvel will clearly have more overpowered top tier superheroes then dc.
Edited reply above and edited and added stuff below.
Here some other views about OP superheroes in marvel and dc.
DC is just OP in general. Even the human characters are OP.
No, dc human characters are not OP.
Some are peak human however but that does make make OP.
It would be an interesting question which of the two main companies has the biggest number of over-powered characters.
I certainly agree with you about DC's "human" level characters.
They do absolutely ridiculous feats...bullet dodging, etc. And it has a ton of them, the Bat family, Green Arrow, etc, etc. Just risible in an era of "gritty" super hero comics with supposedly ruthless powered villains. I mean...Green Arrow? A normal guy with a bow and arrow? Give me an automatic gun, and a weeks training and I'd fancy my own chances of taking him down. And any villain with a decent power-set who can't take him down in less than 5 minutes is completely gormless.
But at top end? My own gut feeling is that Marvel has slightly more over-powered characters than DC. There's a load of omega level mutants, a ton of gods, mega powered telepaths, a healthy sprinkling of reality changers, etc...and the science guys like Reed and Tony can do practically anything...and do it quick.
To make this clear.
All of dc characters are not overpowered.
Some are and some are not.
Just like marvel.
Marvel has peak human level characters too that do the same thing as dc.Marvel human superhero characters do absolutely ridiculous feats as well and there more of them then dc but they are not op and dc's are not op either.
