Of The Marquis attacks I saw him use, I can't think of one that'd put Nekron down(as I'm skeptical employing the same method to destroy a sun would work against Nekron as a being of death personified, as being met by an opponent empowered by his total opposite, The Life Entity, was the only thing I remember proving effective against him).
@jwwprod: IIRC it was 616 Doom from the future traveling time and prepping to beat MOD along the way, hence why he was the MOD's assistant the entire time despite the "non-prepped" version getting curbstomped. He basically knew how it would play out because he already experienced it. (Weird time travel sh!t)

Doom had million of years of prep to learn a the black arts, and how to fight MOD. Even with all that time, Doom still didn't have the power to fight MOD.
Also, Doom wasn't able to "defeat" MOD. He simply destroyed his battered body. This took place after an MOD from the past (Clyde Wyncham), was brought forward to fight MOD. MOD was weakened during this fight (which he still won). MOD then took many hits from the fantastic four while they had the powers of hundreds of thousands of other fantastic four's from different timelines. Just to give you an idea about how overpowered they were, Johnny went Planck temperature. This is the temperature of the earliest stages of the Big Bang itself. MOD even said that it could rupture the multiverse.
