Ms. Marvel vs Raven

@ThatThorFan: To be honest this battle is very similar to the Raven vs Starfire battles because Starfire and Ms. Marvel's powers are so similar to one another. And usually when Raven and Starfire end up tangling in the comics (because Raven's blown a fuse) it's ended up like this:

@Roddy010: Yes i do, that was worded wrong. Well I mean, what if Ms. Marvel goes directly for a speedblitz? Could Raven's mind be quick enough to react? I am really torn but I just need more of an explanation of how Raven would win. Ms. Marvel supporters explained their reasons, just not enough Raven.

can we see some speed scans for miss marvel and some reflexes/reaction timing or durability feats for raven??

@ThatThorFan: If Danvers goes for the blitz, she still has to think to put herself into motion to do it, I dont know about you but I haven't heard she thinks faster than any other person. Same is true for Raven ofc (I assume that both think at an equal speed unless otherwise proven), but the question is if Danvers can cover the distance before she is outraced by what is Raven's speed of thought.

@BMEZY: I did post a reaction feat earlier in this tread, but I can otherwise say that Raven isn't normally portrayed as having superhuman durability (like Terra knocked her out twice by throwing rocks at her head (that said, it put it down to being comics that Raven's head wasn't caved in by the second one)). However at the very end of the NTT run, both Starfire and Kyle Rayner (and Darkstar Donna Troy i think) opened fire on the Evil Raven to put her down (and atomizing her body), either they were certain they needed that kind of firepower or they were going for an epic overkill. Raven's usual means of defense has been displayed to be her soul-self 'swallowing' any incoming projectile before regurgitating it later on.

Well Raven's powers work at the speed of thought...Like I said earlier she was quick enough to dodge lightning so her dodging Ms. Marvel is just as plausible as Carol speedblitzing her....Hoenstly instead of teleporting Raven could just engulf Carol in her soulself....

Teleports away from a tree thrown by Cyborg on a whim...The proceeds to use her soulself to contact the rest of the team...

The three scans in the middle showcase Raven teleporting from a sniper's gun shot..She then proceeds to use her soul self to absorb multiple gun shots (notice Raven is still walking around despite her Soulself being set free) The other two has Raven dodging lightning thrown by Trigon in his dimension...

No problem...The only way I see Carol winning is by blitzing...If she can reach Raven before she ports away then I'd give it to her....

Now Im leaning more so to Raven.

@matchesmalone21: Well, do you see Ms. Marvel winning at all? 10/10 Raven? I can see this going either way to be honest. Both are giving it there all and Ms. Marvel is really quick... However, Raven has got to be fast at thinking since it is one of her powers. And locking her in her spiritual ego if she manages to get ahold of her is a win too. I am starting to lean more so to Raven. She has managed to take down many JLA characters when she is totally insane...

@Roddy010: Im not no Raven expert but I have to agree. Well not a stomp. Ms. Marvel is extremely quick. If she is able to go straight for a blitz before Raven manages to do anything like become intangible, it could be Ms. Marvel. I know more of Ms. Marvel than Raven but Im saying 7/10 Raven... I can be convinced otherwise though. :p

A Blitzing ms marvel is really really overrated for one you could rush head on into a trap just like your opponent would want you to. I think any competent fighter expects and prepares for a blitz when they are preparing to fight. I also Ms. Marvel would be cautious of rushing in head on when she doesn't know what her opponent will do, that would be her defeat. If she doesnt try to blitz which has little chance to succeed imo right at the start she's surely to be defeated.

In the same way Raven has to decide to activate her powers (at the speed of thought) Ms Marvel has to decide to use her powers which are slower then the speed of thought. Raven is battle tested she has enough experience to make this a no contest to me.

Just to add some examples of what Raven can be like without morals being involved. Top image is ofc Raven gone all demonic, and she did bushwhack the Titans before that, but still, she is pinning them down with little difficulty. Second pick is, well, the last we really saw of the original Brother Blood (who for the most parts had been totally immune to her) before she put the smack down and turned him into a shepherd.

Raven seems pretty powerful, but may i ask before i make up my mind....

1- Her speed is it human, because Carol has escape velocity which puts her at least at Mach 25.

Speed of neurons is 90 m/s which means from the time Raven sees Carol to the time it reaches her brain She could have eaten a 90ton punch.

2- Whats her durability can she tank a full powered punch from Carol or energy blast

Raven. I don't see how Carol has anyway of avoiding Raven's power.

Speed of thought in comics has been stated faster than lightning and faster than Flash on occasion. Raven's powers activate at the speed of thought, and she's already dodged a sonic speed blast before. All she has to do is start intangible/teleport and she wins.

The problem is that Carol has to accelerate to reach those speeds, and thats going to be after she's decided that punching Raven is the best option.

The New 52 has tweaked Raven's powers a bit, but it might still be relevant:

Where she demonstrates she's fast enough to avoid Jon landing a punch on her and completely avoid everything he tries to throw at her, including some rocks.
