No prep! Random encounter. PIS, CIS, WIS are on. In-character with incentive to win. Fight to the death or KO. No BFR.
Who, and more importantly why?

Bane wins. Much better fighter.
Are you kidding me? The same Mr. Hyde that fought Hulk and Thor? Hyde stomps.

No. But considering he gave Hulk and Thor a good fight back in the day, I say he stomps.
@venomoushatred1001: I don't recall him ever giving Thor a good fight. He and Cobra together couldn't defeat Thor. And he knocked himself out charging Brittle-Bones Thor.
You've gone on record as saying Ulik is nothing special, but he's actually a challenge to Thor.

Mr. Hyde is a jobber, no doubt, but he can't lose if he wants to here. Bane can barely lift 1 ton, while Mr. Hyde is a 70 tonner. One punch is all it takes for the win.
Try to stay on topic. Ulik has no place in this debate.

He's a reference point. Your argument was "Mr. Hyde has fought Hulk and Thor" and I pointed out that fighting against and actually doing well against aren't always the same.
k4tzm4n provided a much better argument - tossing tanks and tanking gunfire.

Hyde gets stomped often and by street levelers at that. First off I was not addressing you so, no, I am not kidding you or anyone else. The same Hyde that loses to street level characters, yes. Bane wins.

How exactly is being a better fighter gonna help him beat a charactor who has tanked blows from Hulk and Thor?
Just about every superhuman in comics history has had poor showing due to writer ignorance.
I mean hell, Black Panther put Silver Surfer in an armlock in which Surfer looked like he was struggling to get out of, and Panther doesnt even have superhuman strength.
Mr. Hyde wins. Face it.
@venomoushatred1001: @k4tzm4n: Did you guys ever think that those showings were abnormally hiugh? Hyde has lost to Spider-man more than 4 times, DD more than 3, and Captain America once. He also lost to Cobra
Mr Hyde for the win imo took on Alpha Flight single handed taking shots from Northstar & Sas with little effect
Hyde, I think the difference between Bane and DD/Captain America is they fight smart, does Bane do this? I understand Bane's supposed to be a pretty good h2h combatant, as well as smart, but can/has he pulled off feats comparable to the other two? (Breaking of the Bat not withstanding)

The exact same way it helped the other street levelers beat him.
Bane wins because PIS sometimes helps him (i.e. beat the almost unbeatable Batman) and PIS usually hurts Mr. Hyde (loses constantly). Plus CIS is also not on Mr. Hyde's side. Bane isn't nearly as strong, etc., but is way way smarter and can probably take advantage of the environment to beat Hyde (trick him into falling off a building or something).
@k4tzm4n: I honestly didn't realize Hyde is portrayed better currently. I apologize for making a mismatch.
Hyde is like Croc is'nt he? still i have to know what is more consistent his fights against street level characters or against Thor level one's.

Depends on the majority,if he has struggled against street level characters more often than he faced Hulk etc then maybe it's clear that he's not really on the level he's supposed to be.
Still based on that scan from K4tz i'd say Hyde takes it.

That showing was just PIS, how can Silver Surfer be beyond Class 100 strength level and gets in a submission hold by Black Panther who has, at the very most, enhanced human strength? Cmon now.

Surfer?i'm talking about Hyde.Surfer has the feats to easily to prove that the incident with Panther was poorly written.Hyde seems to fluctuate.

The writer apparently stated that Silver Surfer let Black Panther hold him and made it seem like he couldn't get out to try to find out what he was planning or something.
@owie: what is pis
@owie: what is pis
Well, first let me say that I don't agree at all with my post from 3 years ago. BUT, PIS is "plot induced stupidity," which basically means that often characters do something stupid only to serve the writer's plot needs. In other words, the plot needs character X to win, because he's the good guy, so the otherwise unbeatable bad guy eventually does something dumb that allows the hero to win.
Here's a page that explains a lot of forum acronyms and slang.
