All Supes did in Returns was lift stuff up, stand in front of bullets, fly and get the crap beaten out of him by a couple of Lex Luthor's thugs, while surrounded by Kryptonite. Hal at least had SOME combat feats, even if they were lack-luster.
He lifted an island, trillions of tons, and flung it into space.

@CitizenBane: Australia weighs 8 million tons (approximately), that Kryptonite Island wasn't as big as Australia. And movie Paralax was stil above anything Supes faced in that movie.
Where are you getting that figure from? Link? And movie Parallax had no feats apart from stabbing Abin Sur, a little TP and killing some civilians.

.....where does it say Australia weighs only 8 billion tons? All I see is Land Area, and that's the size of the surface, not the weight.

True
superman returns was a good movie, its so noble but one thing ruins it, SUPERMAN has a kid! everyone knows that it will never happen
@progenitor: pshh that's just major stupidity man, sorry!
Does the fact that the director sees this as being a sequel to Donner's Superman and the bits of the second film that made sense to him mean feats from the first film could be considered? If so, Superman spun so fast that the Earth began to go backwards in time - Hal should have no chance.
Just using feats from Superman Returns, I think I agree with the people who use the Island as a suitable feat.
Psh. Brandon Routh took a bullet in the eye in that movie. Way better than anything Ryan Reynolds did.
Bryan Singer's Space Jesus ftw.
