Movie Hercules vs Movie Thor

VS.

Both are aware of one another, but unlike in the comic book, they are not friends or allies.
Battle starts out as a prearranged, friendly competition between two deities, but as it has a tendency to do, can quickly escalate.
Battle ends with KO, incapacitation, or concession.
* Note: This is not "Dwayne Johnson vs. Chris Hemsworth" -- it is between the characters they portray in the movies.
* Note: 616 powers do not enter into this

Scenario 1:

• Morals on
• Thor has Mjolnir
• Hercules has access to whatever weaponry he uses in the film

Scenario 2:

• Morals on
• Unarmed combat only

Is he really this powerful? Based on the trailers, I was thinking maybe he was going to be more around Cap's level.

@the_stegman: I'm going to see it this afternoon so I'll find out either way. Just thinking people are jumping the gun a little bit (off the trailers at least).

@fallschirmjager: The dude in the trailer is destroying buildings just by pulling down pillars, fighting a hydra, and defeating the Nemean Lion with his bare hands.

Even though I think Thor stomps here, Herc should still be above Cap....

@jmarshmallow: I only saw the one trailer where he was fighting the Lion, the Rhino and the Hydra. Nothing Cap couldn't accomplish - especially with his shield.

I don't like to watch more than one trailer these days, to know as less as possible. Studios release like 6 trailers for every movie now.

Well, judging from the trailer they might be at least on pair, strenght speaking. We need to watch the movie to judge.

Scenerio 1: thor with very little effort

Scenerio 2: thor again with little effort. much stronger and more durable than movie Hercules.

This is a total mismatch. Hercules is more like Cap's level. I just got back from the movie.

In movie terms, he's low super. He can punch/kick/throw grown men 5-10 feet, he flipped over a horsemen charging at him (used it momentum against it) and he ripped his chains out of the ground that where nailed in the cement.

All of his fights against the various monsters including the Lion, Boar and Hydra were all greatly exaggerated. He had help vs all of them. There is a montage at the end of the movie that details how he beats all of them (with his band of soldiers aiding)

He did topple over the statue of Hera at the end of the movie, however, its hard to gauge the feat because while he was applying pressure against it, only 1 support beam cracked and then the rest followed in a domino effect and it fell over.

Cap could take him frankly, because he doesn't have an answer to Cap's shield.

@fallschirmjager: How was the movie?

6/10. Nothing overly memorable but I was entertained. The movie does not take itself with any grain of seriousness though. Some of the historical aspects also were annoying as a history buff.

It was a decent popcorn flick though.

This has come up a couple of times now.
Maybe somebody should make a battle of Movie Cap vs Movie Herc.

I just thought it might be fun to pair the movie versions of Herc and Thor against one another.
I have not seen the new one yet myself.
Guess we can wait awhile and see if the "mismatch" appraisals (not spite - I had no idea) holds true.

@spykat: Wasn't accusing you of anything, just say. He's not anywhere in Thor's league.
