X-men. Can anyone prove that Avangers are resilient to telepathic attacks?

I beleive Thor, Hulk, Magneto, Iron Man, and War Machine (the powerhouses) are far easier to kill in the movies, than the comic books. This is to the death by the way, and takes place in the Sahara Desert, which is where The helicarrier brought down the blackbird, killing beast (the only one who couldn't make it to Nightcrawler in time), The helicarrier is then brought down by Magneto stopping one jet (which doesn't exert him at all), and Maria Hill is killed in the crash. Iron Man and War Machine have standard armor. Nick Fury has a pistol and rocket launcher. Both teams are bloodlusted. Nightcrawler can teledismember, but not fatally.

Hulk resistant to telepathy...especially when he is angry. Thor and hulk combined is too much for all the x men to handle

not in the movies.

that version of prof x didnt have any feats showing he could control multiple minds at once. so im assuming he controls hulk and sits him out the fight, thor smashes the rest of the Xmen.

Unfortunately a few 2 hour films can't account for several decades of comics. Assumptions have to be made.

Any assumptions that we make with regards of the comic book can be argued against. Can Xavier control the hulk or an Asgardian? Can Xavier even control iron man with his suit on?

The one thing that the Avengers have here a couple of ridiculously powerful characters that have barely been harmed. We know that magneto and xavier can die with a single hit, but no matter what Thor and Hulk will take a beating before they go down.

I'd definitely give it to the avengers.

Movie Thor is a powerhouse, but definitely not powerful enough to solo. Anyway, time for back-up to arrive:

Gambit hears of the final stand against the avengers, and rounds up an extremely reluctant group of mutants, who've barely managed to evade the law and it's registration-act.

Sabretooth! A man trying desperately to clean the blood off of his claws, but often has outbursts of unbridled rage that can be hazardous to anyone trying to take him out.

Loki has been watching Earth from his prison cell in Asgard. Sif grants him one week of freedom if he can assist Thor in fighting the X-Men. Loki gladly excepts, assembles a small, elite team of people, and puts them under a hypnotic influence.

Red Skull, who Loki tracked down to a remote part of the Russian wilderness, where he lives, having settled there after being transported there by the tesseract.

(Happy Hogan and Shadowcat are virtually useless in this fight, and will likely die quickly, adding to the bloodlust between the teams)

Sure, but Jean and Emma would have to be balanced out by Sif and Volstagg, who's movie versions were surprisingly unimpressive when it came to feats.

Like someone said, Assumptions need to be made:

Asgardians are an alien mind that Prof X cannot understand. Hulk also has a mind that Prof X cannot understand.

Prof X cannot take down Thor or Hulk, so presumably Thor can then just one-hit X with lightning. I also think Hawkeye, Captain, and Black Widow with their incredible combat could take down many of the Xmen like cyclops, prof x, and storm who have no significant durability boosts. Hulk would destroy collosus. Iceman gets fried by Thor's lightning or maybe even a few blasts from Iron Man and War Machine. Nightcrawler would eventually get taken down, I feel, by Hawkeye and if not him, Thor's lightning (Thor could just send down quite a bit at once to cover a large amount of area where nightcrawler may get to).

The only real threat (with the assumption that Thor and Hulk, or at least one of them, cannot be affected by Prof X (especially 1st class Prof X) is magneto. I believe magneto in the X-men 1-3 (not first class though), could kill the hulk, but not thor (Thor's hammer would presumably not be affected my magnetism). Thor is really the deciding factor in this and the rest of the crew does what they can and Thor cleans up after.

Edit: Btw, poor wolverine gets used as a conductor for Thor's electricity... I love wolverine, but I don't think he's regenerating from that anytime soon.

Anyway, I'm picking Avengers. Better feats against bigger threats. This Mags would definitely own Iron Man though. Unlike the pathetic AvX battle they had.

Phoenix has high power levels, but none of the B.S. shown in the final sequence of X3. The Avengers realize that jean is there, moments before the helicarrier goes down. They all have an okay understanding of who their up against, but have no idea of who might be arriving as backup.

@The Stegman: I can't really identify one team as a winner. It's four asgardians against a reality warper, with little control over her powers. Red Skull would be a problem, too, and I'd love to see a confrontation between him and Mags (Magneto being a holocaust survivor and the Skull being a former Nazi.

Sorry but if Wolverine's regeneration could allow him to make it to Jean as Phoenix, then she's screwed by Thor's durability and/or Hulk's regeneration.

Also, Thor's feats in the Avengers > Orona. They're still based off the comics where Thor>>>>>>>>>Storm.

The X-Men would win, but not nearly this easily. For one, movie Peter is pretty much featless. Seriously, his only feat in the entire series is tanking tranq. darts, which isn't very impressive. Logically, if he's like his comic counter-part he should be a beast, but there's no on screen evidence to support that he is.

There's also no evidence of Storm being able to BFR Hulk. Her best feat is in X2, when she creates all the tornado's to scramble the fighter jets. Watching it, it seemed to take a lot of concentration on Storms part to do that, and she was still unable to scramble them fast enough to prevent them from firing a missile at the blackbird. If she has trouble with two fighter jets, she isn't stopping Hulk. It's also likely that Thor can shut her down entirely. Thor didn't use weather powers that often (as he doesn't need to rely on them as much), but in his fight with Destroyer he displayed greater weather feats then Storm did, and did so while also dancing around Destroyer without ever showing any strain.

Cap would beat Cyclops. Caps shield would easily tank Cyk's optic blast long enough for him to get close (it tanked a hit from Thor that destroyed the forest they were in), and movie Cap was MUCH more impressive at H2H then movie Cyclops.

The problem though is Xavier. Movie Xavier's feats are actually pretty insane. He has shown pretty consistently that he can shut down the minds of everyone in an entire room, including people as powerful as Sebastian Shaw. With cerebro he was able to do so to the entire planet. The only Avenger actually shown to resist mental powers was Iron Man, who completely resisted Loki's attempt to MC him, but to be fair Loki didn't seem to be anywhere close to Xavier in mental feats (and seemed to actually need to touch someone with his staff to MC them). Until we have good evidence to support Hulk or Thor resisting Xavier, we have to assume that they can't, and Prof. X ends up winning this for the X-Men.

@Moonchilde: Regarding Cykes and Cap. Yeah movie Cykes was a pathetic whinner with no impressive feats but I don't think it is right to compare Thor's "smash" with his Optic Blast. First off, yes, I would agree Mjolnir is more powerful than the blast but they were quite different in terms of the punch they gave. One is a single powerful force, the other is a continuous push. It's like comparing a demolition ball with say a bulldozer. Just throwing it in there. Anyway, I agree Cap still wins that duel.

Most of your scenarios are easily turned on their head pending who's side one wants to win.

I will emphasize one thing, as soon as Storm tries to manipulate the weather, Thor shuts her down quickly and easily. (God of Thunder >>>>>> Puny Mutant.)

Only way X-Men win is via TP if we can all agree the heavy hitters would be affected. If not, the Avengers take them down.

@Nessy: Those are unfounded assumptions, nothing more. We don't know if Avengers can resist thelepathy, but we know that in "X-men 2" Xavier nearly killed every human being on the planet - yes, he needed Cerebro to do this but still... I bet that he can deal with 6 guys withouth Cerebro. Other X-men must just buy him some time.
