Here is the question of this battle: can a rationally thinking Superman using all his fighting skills and intelligence beat a bloodlusted Superman who uses his strength to the fullest and lacks restraint?

Rules:

• Pre-new 52 Superman
• Morals on Superman must hold back as he normally does and cannot let loose.
• Win by death/KO/incap

Why did you make this? Superman's tactical thinking doesn't drop off enough while bloodlusted for this to even be a worthwhile discussion.

The rational thinking and all that, coupled with not being able to turn on the thrusters to even the odds means MOn Supes eventually gets thrashed by MOff Supes.

Prep would do very little and their weakness is shared amongst them, so that's a suicide battle plan if one brought Kryptonite into the equation. MOff Supes does everything MOn Supes does, but faster and with more brutality. He may tire quicker, but not before putting down MOn Supes. His logical thinking does absolutely nothing here, unless he tricks him to dive into a pool of Kryptonite or some other PIS device.

Actually it does. Greatly. Superman has a number of tactical showings that display high levels of intelligence involving combat skills, stratigic use of powers, combinations of powers, etc. Think about all those times he beat Bizzaro.

Morals off. Superman can kill most heroes & villains in mere seconds if he only went about it that way.

Morals off and bloodlust are essentially the same thing. Morals off means Superman will use his powers to their full potential, thinking rationally but with no regard to anything but the win. Bloodlusted means Superman is unrestrained and going full throttle towards the win. The only difference between the two mindsets is brutality. You have a bloodlusted, morals off Superman vs morals on Superman....it's obvious who wins lol

No...I morals off Superman is completely incapable of tactical thinking. Look at his sacrifice fight with Wonder Woman. He used no amount of tactical thinking in that fight. That's how he's going to be fighting here:like an idiot.

Superman will also fight like an idiot in this scenario.

I'm not certain Superman's tactical thinking ability will go down anywhere near as much as the OP thinks it would morals off. Morals off isn't the equivalent of bloodlusted after all so the morals off Superman might be more lethal than the morals on Superman due to the tactics on offer from more dangerous uses of his powers. Plus there's the fact Morals on Superman won't cut loose as he needs to in order to defeat Morals Off Superman.

No...he was bloodlusted in that fight...and fighting what he thought to be Doomsday...

Bloodlust is what I had in mind here. I'll change the OP.

So basically you wanted the bloodlusted Superman from Sacrifice vs an in character Superman? A tougher call now but nonetheless bloodlusted Superman could still win. He was able to avoid some of Wonder Woman's attacks who's no slouch in speed and reflexes herself. Plus, for all the tactical prowess morals on Superman brings, if he doesn't have the force to bring bloodlusted Superman down, he can't win. The same cannot be said for bloodlusted Superman. He has more of a chance to win than morals on Superman IMO.

Stalemate, why would a bloodlusted Superman have the advantage over a morals on Supes ? I mean even though a character is morals on, it doesn't he'll allow the bloodlusted character to kill him, I think even a morals on Superman wouldn't hesitate to kill if his life would be in danger. So IMO this is as I said a stalemate.

I thought this was settled in Injustice?

Bloodlusted Superman wins easily. Superman does not lose his tactical thinking when he is bloodlusted
