#2 Posted by Stronger (4948 posts) - - Show Bio

I think Sinestro has already beaten Mongul

nice bump, bro.........

Posting in a thread

  • Is an old thread a clear spite match and you're bumping it just to point that out? Don't post, just flag it and a mod will likely lock it.

I don't think it is a spite.

But anyway it's been done in comics.

@stronger: Did he really beat Mongul, IIRC he just took over Mongul's ring after being on the losing end of their fight

@stronger: Therefore he didn't really beat Mongul, he just turned his ring against him

It's a win but he didn't really beat him down

So I said it's not a stomp.

What he is trying to say is that without the power rings Mongul would still annihilate Thaal Sinestro.

Sinestro is easily more powerful than Mongol in terms of mastery over the rings, I really don't see Mongul beating Sinestro in a fight just because of how tactful, knowledgeable, and cunning he can be at times

Not-A-Chance.

Hal Jordan humiliated Mongul even without the power rings.

I don't think Sinestro is really that much below Hal.

Sinestro wins in a good fight.

Mongul

Sinestro wasn't exactly beating Mongul when they fought though

Again the outcome was in Sinestro's favor.

Now without the rings,Mongul should giva him a good fight, before he goes down.

@stronger: I don't see how you came to that conclusion as Mongul beat up Sinestro, which lead to Sinestro having to resort to using Mongul's ring against him

Again, couldn't Sinestro do what Hal did to him without the rings?

I mean if all the fights against Lanterns were so short, comics would be boring.

He possibly could, however in their fight, Mongul stomped stomped Sinestro and had practically won until Sinestro turned the rings against him

@dondave:

Pretty sure that beating on someone and then losing the fight by being outsmarted is still a loss.

A 1/10 loss which Sinestro technically had prep for. I get what dondave is trying to say. It's the the Rock beating the crap out of a 9 year old than having the kid land a shot to the jewels. A win sure but that kid is lucky to be alive......on account of how many kids the Rock has killed.....just go with the analogy for now haha.

Mongul used the rings during the fight against him as well.

@misterwhisper: He wasn't outsmarted; his weapon was used against him. It's like having your gun back-fire on you.

Sinestro.

These scans clearly illustrate that Mongul could beat Sinestro, just that his ring was compromised leading to his loss
