"Who knows what MA's Shang actually has mastered? "Practically every form of Chinese martial arts/Kung Fu.
" After recent events (most notably, the Mr X vs IF thread) I checked my Handbook, and according to Mr X's bio, he is a level 7 fighter, with supposed knowledge on every form of armed/unarmed combat. And, considering what was said about X in the other thread, as well, I'm inclined to support him against Shang Chi, unless Shang has a way of resisting having his mind probed by him...Which I suppose he can not, and will not do, or it would have already been stated by now. "Shang Chi, like Mister X, has the ability to read moves, more or less like Mister X....
" @Vance Astro: Why is it stupid? "Because of Mister X's ability to read moves based on his opponent's neural motor functions.
" @Morpheus_ said:Shang's thoughts state that, he "has the ability to anticipate the flow of an opponent's attack", unless something else ecaped me. Reading movements may be effective, but Mr X does not simply do that, but rather "reads" the mind of his opponent about what he is about to do, before he actually does it. That is beyond the effectiveness of simple movement reading, no matter the similarity those two abilities may seemingly share. Also, my question was if Shang has the ability to shield himself from that ability of Mr X's, not if Shang can read movement himself." I was just giving any Shang Chi fan's the idea of false hope. LOL.
" @Static Shock: But Shang Chi can cut off his nerve endings so he can feel pain. Don't you think a technique like that could slightly throw off Mr.X? "He can cut off his nerve endings to ignore pain, but masking and/or shielding his neural motor functions from being read is different, and Shang Chi doesn't have the ability to do that.
But yeah, I still think if Chi can control his nervous system then he could find a way to fake out Mr.X.
" @Static Shock: "so he can't feel pain" *** But yeah, I still think if Chi can control his nervous system then he could find a way to fake out Mr.X. "Any evidence of Shang Chi being able to pull that off?

" He has beaten Fu Manchu and is consider Marvels MA expert. It's stated in his MU guide that the only person able of beating him in H2H is Wolverine. And that's only cuz he has a century of experience tht Chi can't match. "Fu Manchu is a pushover.
" @Vance Astro: O.o what makes you say that? "Any Marvel 5-7 level fighter could take him.
" @Vance Astro: I thought Chi was the only person who has beaten him. "He is..but what I am saying is plenty of Marvel top levels could have done the same thing.Fu Manchu is no Stick.
" and stick is no ogun "This.

" @Vance Astro: No way, Stick doesn't compare to Fu Manchu. Stick is a fantastic combatant no doubt but Fu Manchu has centuries of perfection of his art. "Fu Manchu hasn't done anything.Stick is way out of his league.
Who has Fu Manchu beaten or fought other than Shang Chi?" @Vance Astro: I thought Chi was the only person who has beaten him. "
What am I dismissing? You said that Shang Chi was the only person that could beat Fu Manchu, as if other notable martial artists couldn't. But, the problem is that Fu Manchu hasn't fought anybody worth a damn, besides Shang Chi. Again, what am I dismissing? You couldn't even answer my question. World's greatest martial artist? An opinion, at best. Not a fact." @Static Shock: Good point but you dismiss facts about the character. He's suppose to be the worlds greatest martial artist. "
" @King Quisling said:LOL." @Static Shock: Good point but you dismiss facts about the character. He's suppose to be the worlds greatest martial artist. "
...how could he be the "world's greatest martial artist" if Shang Chi beat him? Using martial arts lol? "
" @Vance Astro: Just because we haven't seen much of him doesn't mean he isn't incredibly skilled. I'm sure if Marvel could get the rights to use the name Fu Manchu then he would be more of a threat in the U. It's hard to use a character without using their name. :P From what we know he's suppose to be near unstoppable. And think of the people he has trained. All of them are pretty wicked H2H combatants. "
And yet Fu hired in masters of martials arts from around the world to train Shang.
I would have thought he might have done the training himself in that case.
not always so just b/c u are an MA master doesnt mean u train lower ranking ppl then you.... you let other students or lesser ppl train them for u in the basics first..... he could also have bn lazy

"You're making a case for him but you don't even know what he can do.The only reason I know exists is because Shang Chi broke him off.If all he has to show for his so called skill is getting his as beat by Shang Chi.Then how is beating him a feat? To pretend Fu Manchu was near unstoppable would make Shang look someone would wouldn't have gotten their ass handed to them by Wolverine as easily as shown. If you had said Shang Chi beat Ogun,Temugin,The Mandarin,Midnight Sun (which he did),Stone,Stick or even Iron Fist I could give him his props..but based on Fu Manchu alone that's nothing.

Maybe but he never took a hand in the training (apart from organising the trainers).
If he was intent on making his 'son' the most deadly and skilled assassin, he would have given him the best.
If that was Fu, he would have trained him.
@Vance Astro:
Plain and simple. Marvel can't use the name Fu Manchu and it's impossible to use a character when you can't use his name. I'm sure if they hadn't lost the rights to the name Fu would have more notable battles under his belt. Read early Master of Kung Fu stuff. HE's made out to be nearly unstoppable and a serious threat.

Your making a case for a character, whose martial arts skill weren't showcased do to copyrights/trademarks. It's not helping your argument. If he was made to be unstoppable, then he would have been shown as such, and he hasn't been." @Static Shock: @Vance Astro: Plain and simple.
