Minato Namikaze vs Itachi Uchiha

Itachi. Sad to say but Kishimoto took all the hype with Minato and literally trolled us again by doing nothing with him

that's a good fight... Minato is the fastest character in naruto verse, there's no way Itachi can beat Minato with ease, But Itachi Susano is hard for Minato to deal with, i think Itachi is smart enough to know all about minato's jutsu. Amaterasu and fire technique are useless, Minato will win this with hard difficulty, but that'll be a really good fight, i wonder it'll happen

Minato beats jiraya handily enough. And the problem here is he doesn't have the destructive capacity to break susano. He could dodge around though...

They've never fought... and if they did there is no way that Minato could win.

Itachi. Minato can't get through susano.

Jiraya knows Senjutsu, Minato could speedblitz as much as he wants he isn't dealing enough damage to KO Jiraya, let alone Jiraya taught Minato his most destructive technique, the rasengan.

You read what happened in the pain Arc, 3 paths of pain couldn't do any damage to him while he was normal... Minato cant stop him from entering sage mode.

Minato can also use sage mode and he can gather senjutsu chakra without summoning toads (his senjutsu activation is faster). and Minato can teleport Itachi's attacks to wherever he pleases (like he did with kyubi's bijuudama).

Itachi gets blitzed and sealed.

I guess, if Minato were bloodlusted, and out of character that technique would work :\

Doesn't work against Itach though considering the fight is over when he makes eye contact with Itachi.

Minato is one of the only ninjas before his death to have gotten to a powerful level without external means like manipulating his dna or inheriting someone else's power, Hashirama is another Ninja.

I think Minato deserves that respect, that being said, Itachi should win this.

Minato isn't an amateur who would look into the eyes of an Uchiha. Seeing as most kage level know all about the sharingan's genjutsu.

@deathbyants: even in character, blitzing is his standard go-to. He knows about senjutsu, and is smart enough to finish it before jiraya could gather enough energy. He has all the time he needs to rasengan him, or seal him.

I find it a little hard to believe someone who fought both madara and obito (one of them controlled mizukage) would be done in by genjutsu..

@hulkage: Itachi was capable of summoning susanoo before lightning struck him.

It would be hard for Minato to blitz in the small time frame. Itachi is healthy here and not going blind either.

He also has izunagi and izanami in case if he dies get killed, he can alter reality at the lost of his eye.

There's A reason why minato was chosen over the Sanin. He solos armies before his minato hits the ground, flee on sight, etc.

Minato isn't getting tagged and he just outlast itachi's horrible stamina.

I actually change my mind, I honestlyddon'tknow who wins. Mminato is smart enough to retreat and think thingsover. Iitachiwwon't hold up susanoo forever and Minato could find a way to instantly cut him down. It's all a possibility.

It's a hard fight for me to call honestly. If Minato knew how to perform the flying God slash like Tobirama, he'd be able to cut Itachi down a lot easier, but he doesn't.

If we're talking about the Itachi that's been dying since his first appearance, then I'd say Minato takes it. That fight would put way too much strain on his body, same as his fight with Sasuke.

A healthy Itachi most-likely takes it. He's fast no doubt, but I think Itachi could still tag him with Tsukiyomi for the win after a few tries.

And I know it's not allowed, but Bijuu Mode secures Minato the win.

It pretty much gave him everything he needs to easily counter Itachi. Genjutsu resistance due to being a jinchuuriki, power to break or at least damage Susano'o, speed such that he will never get hit by the Sword of Totsuka, etc...

Although, as some have already iterated in this thread, I don't think Minato even needs Bijuu Mode to beat Itachi.

I Can give you a list of atleast 10 characters that one shots him with his susano'o.

Yet it was young, featless Ei. I'd like to see how base Minato in his prime beats prime Shippuden/War Arc Raikage Ei.

He never solo'd an army. Thats a fanfic based on nothing at all. He needed help of several shinobi to defeat large enemy numbers. He cant defeat armies before he hits the ground.

But Itachi simply doesnt have movement speed to beat Minato. His only chance will be aither Amaterasu, or Genjutsu. The fact he reacted to Kirin is easily explained by his sharingan precognition. Not very impressive if you ask me. And KCM Naruto he fought wasnt as fast as the one who fought Raikage, because he created lots of clones before fighting Edo Itachi.

Oh, and Yata Mirror is featless. So dont even bother with bringing that up here.

Madara, Sasuke, DMS Kakashi, Kaguya, Naruto all are leagues above Minato in speed

Minato and raikage are same age.

Minato hadnt mastered rasengan when he fought A, neither did he use FTG level 2. And ur prime A couldnt tag obito (not even once).

Not to mention that minato became a jinchuriki a few minutes b4 his death. He could bijuu dama A into oblivion. Not to mention contract seals to remove trouble some abilities from his opponents (same thing he did to make sure obito could no longer control kurama).

Wow so now you think kakashi is faster than minato. DMS didnt increase kakashis spd it only allowed him access to susano, kamui shuriken and hiding btw dimensions and kamui chidori, he literally had no spd feats. Madara (so6p) is the only incarnation of madara faster than minato, and even at that, he only had reaction spd (ie dodging attacks and then countering. He never blitzed anyone).

Same with kaguya.

Kaguya never blitzed (SHE ONLY REACTED TO SPD, AND WAS EASILY DECIEVED BY KAGEBUNSHIN) neither did kakashi ever attain blitz level spd.

-Itachi can't keep up Susano'o for too long so once it goes down he gets marked and Blitzed by FTG

-Minato evades Amaterasu rather easily, his foot speed could evade it rather easily let alone FTG

-Minato isn't stupid, he wouldn't look into Itachi's eyes so he's not getting caught Tsukuyomi
