@_mongul: Because it has no barring in reality. In an actual death match, in the real world, the one who dies first loses and the one still standing is the winner.
That does not get rescinded simply because the winner dies after the match is over.
@redlantern2814: Hahaha what? Are you serious?
If you stab me and I shoot you, I don't win just because you die first. If I die 5 minutes later because of your stab wound, I also lose, making it a stalemate.
I can sum up your logic in a single sentence;
"If I kill you by killing myself, I win."
Do you understand how absurd that sounds?

You could just edit the OP to stipulate that even if Guy dies after using the 8th gate, it still counts as a win if he KOs Raikage first. Or something to that effect. Then it won't matter if people agree with that logic or not.
@_mongul: If you die 5 minutes later, 5 minutes after my death, than you win our death match!
Secondly, to be more accurate it is to say "If I can kill you, before dying myself, then I win" which I think most people would accept.
@omnicrono I didn't post the OP so I can't edit it, but I will keep it in mind on future threads since I thought it was readily accepted that the last man standing wins death battles.
@kingh That's a cool way of putting it
@redlantern2814: Ah. I was assuming you had created it. Guess that'll teach me to read. lol
And I agree with you that it should be "last man standing" wins, if the rules do no make it clear.
@redlantern2814: This is some of the dumbest logic I've seen in a while.
So if I purposefully poison you, and it will kill you in 5 minutes, you still win if I die first?
@omnicrono: I have always treated fights like it was last man standing; unless stated otherwise. I mean what do we mean when we say something is "high difficulty" if they aren't allowed to push themselves to the max?
@_mongul: Yes and I am glad you used that example because I have the perfect point of reference for this!
Oberyn poisons the Mountain with his poison coated spear, Mountain crushes Oberyn's skull, and so Mountain wins even if he does die from the poison later.

Yep. And a "stalemate" is when neither can KO the other, or when they KO each other at the same time with their respective attacks. I personally don't believe it should be considered a stalemate if someone KOs a guy, but then passes out or (in this case) dies from his own exhaustion shortly after, because it wasn't the other guy's attack that did him in. This isn't going to be a case of Raikage landing a critical blow but then getting KO'd, only to have Guy die later from Raikage's earlier blow.
@omnicrono: The Mountain vs Oberyn; I think we all agree that The Mountain wins even if he dies later from the poison. Last man standing!!!!!
Base Guy is massively faster and much more skilled, it will be good fight Base vs 4ths full power, any gate makes this stomp.
Gai wins easy, 4th would be more then enough and gai did not die because he used 8 gate, he was going to die after using night gai which is like 9th.

False, Guy was going to die but Naruto came in with sage ex-machina and saved his life . Night guy is just an attack, not an extra gate .
Ay wins most of his fights as a kage because he is simply faster, stronger and has animalistic endurance.
but here speed is equalized even if he is still faster
Against 6 gates Gai, Ay might probably still win with mid difficulty. "Might"
But i believe 7gates is too much because guy has moves like afternoon tiger.
I dont honestly know if Ay hs the durability to tank such a move.
His father certainly does. But not sure about
Ay's strongest move has to be Spear. He cant hit Gai with such a move based on speed alone. He will need some form of distraction. And he doesnt have any as seen in the sasuke fight. He sacrified an arm where most ninjas would have used a clone instead.
This...this is it. The one-post KO....I've only heard of it in legends....
Post 66-67. He did it. He actually did it! He corrected him so hard he never came back!
Gai should have the better stats with just 1 or 2 of the gates open.
The hazard of touching someone cloaked in Lightning, can be overcome with ranged attacks like Daytime Tiger.
The Raikage is also highly durable, but sincerely believe that just about any 7th gate attack can 1 shot him.
I believe he wins handily, unless he isn't allowed to use gates or something.
While Guy could obviously win with 8 gates, that would kill himself as well. With 7th gate I could see this fight going either way. The raikage would probably have the edge though imo due to being faster. So if guy goes 8 gates it's a draw as both die, if he stays in 7th gates they both have a chance at winning.
raikage would win, 7th gate gai is stronger and probably faster but he cannot keep that form for a long time nor more than 1 shot, the raikaeg would not die that easily and once gai uses the power of the 7th gate he would be extremely weak and vulnerable, so much so that even a tap would send him to hell and back.
Raikage.
