Everyone has a bias towards something. You don't see rambling on about 'IF THIS WAS A CAGE MATCH' in every thread where my favourite character loses to another through virtue of range, unlike someone I know.
In any case, Spider nut huggers are somewhat justified. When was the last time Logan was the centre of anything truly good, films or otherwise? The Wolverine was mediocre at best and DOFP wasn't about him at all. Don't get me started at AvX, Age of Ultron, the poor state of X-Men comics and the Logan Legacy.
Superior Spiderman was awesome, as was ASM2 and this new Spiderverse story looks sweet.
In short, it's likely a good thing Wolverine's dead, everyone gets a break from seeing him plastered everywhere, reigning mediocrity down upon the Marvel universe.

In any case, Midnighter's knocked out tougher opponents then Logan. He's faster, stronger, has long range attacks (explosives darts) and his skill means he won't get steam-rolled.
That's not even taking into account his battle computer, which means Logan mightn't be able to even hit him. Combine that with Doors and this is almost a spite thread.

It's not a mismatch per say. Nighter's had competitive fights with people with people like Zealot, who, despite being above Logan, is hardly a few leagues above him.

Perhaps if the OP where to remove Doors and/or the battle computer, yes.
