Golden Age Superman could beat Midnighter... even during Superman's early years he had some impressive feats... and during the latter part of the Golden Age. Superman started showing feats near his Silver Age levels.

Midnighter isn't in that range,bullets can hurt midnighter like any other human to my understanding,Considering I've only read storm watch,and the authority relentless. He isn't strong enough to lift much,he's pretty fast,but not GA superman fast,who can still respond to things like bullets at point blank range.And midnighter has a battle computer but I doubt that would help.Plus midnighters pain receptors are turned off,but even Ga supes can punch him into pulp where it wouldn't matter.Supes wins in my opinion.

The pocket nuke should be standard equipment. The nano-aids capsule is not, as far as I know, it was in Krigstein's lab and he doored himself there to get it.

If this supes is a mostly unskilled 25 tonner that is quick, can jump high, and is bullet proof, I think Midnighter can take him even without his combat computer. Midnighter trades blows with Hawksmoor, a 40 tonner at minimum and has weathered hits from even stronger foes. Midnighter's speed is sufficient to allow him to brutalize enemies faster than they can register his movement and dodge bullets at close range (while saying he didn't need his computer to do it) so I don't think Superman is much faster than him if at all. So if they're on similar levels when it come to speed and strength, I think Midnighter's actual fighting skill (there are examples of him training and identifying martial arts which indicate he has knowledge other than what the computer tells him to do) would win it for him.

I was assuming he got nothing but his staff and maybe his shuriken since most people don't realize he carries explosives of varying intensities and so probably didnt think about that when putting the fight together.

Without his battle computer Midnighter has lost one of his primary advantages. Still, he is pretty amazing without it. This is a fairly well balanced fight, as Midnighter will completely outclass Superman in combat skill, but will not do that much damage to him.

Does Midnighter have his Jackhammer? :(

Ga supes was a bit weaker but he had no weakness and really invulnerable. I dont recall seen this fool really getting hurt.

I do believe early GA Supes was about as you described. Late GA Supes was nearing SA levels I believe though. If so, with early GA, I think Midnighter can take it. Late GA, I'll go with Supes.

This. If the Op is limiting Superman to the level I think he is, then I'd say Midnighter wins.

@laflux: The best comparison I can come up with for GA Supes is Hawksmoor on the Carrier, although Jack is massively stronger. And Midnighter still owned him twice. He's never struggled with enhanced durability, and he's done things like kill a kinetic energy absorber by cutting of blood flow to the brain. He's beaten far better than this guy, assuming it's the Supes who couldn't fly and was around a 30-tonner.

GA Superman's not even a quarter as strong as some of the bricks Midnighter has one-shotted. He hits as hard as a locomotive? Good for him. Midnighter has killed Incubites who could toss locomotives around like toys, thrashed Hawksmoor (a guy who can chuck propane tankers and destroy tanks just by falling through them) and brought down Maul with a nerve-strike. Maul could eat the Titanic if he felt like it, forget about punching as hard as a locomotive. I haven't seen anything that indicates GA Superman can strike faster than Midnighter can react.

All hating aside it's not always PIS when a far weaker person drops or one shots a vastly stronger opponent..daredevil dropped Hyde with one shot and he is capable of lifting 40-50 tons..with pure skill. I think midnighter could bet GA supes,,he's not nearly as impressive as his SA feats or others

I'm moderately amused because you posted Assassin8 beating Midnighter with a plot device, and knowing you, you probably haven't even read the issue and were posting it as an example of an ordinary human beating Midnighter. Which would have been PIS, but I doubt that would have met with any objection from you.

Midnighter's nerve-strike against Maul is consistent. He has a track record of bringing down super-strong, super-durable opponents with his hits, whether you like it or not. Maul's strength and durability increase in accordance with his size, and at that size he probably wasn't on Majestic's level or anything like that, but he was comfortably at least 10 times stronger than GA Superman.

I suppose it's a good thing I didn't bring up Midnighter taking a kick from Sebastian, the evil Majestic, and getting up to kick him right back. I can only imagine how much pain that would have caused you.

If you mean action comics one superman then its pretty fair but I say supes still wins
