I'm surprised this hasn't been done.
Anyways, who wins?
Mew vs Arceus
Arceus. Essentially, Arceus = the god of Pokemon. Mewtwo could have put up a better fight, although he would probably have lost also.
Didn't Mew pretty much toy around with Mewtwo, not even fight serious. And he still put up a good fight.
" @Silver2467: But Mew was pretty much first natural born Pokemon. He can learn almost any move. Arceus is fairly new, and Mew has been a character for years. Wans't Mew the "God" of pokemon, before Arceus? Didn't Mew pretty much toy around with Mewtwo, not even fight serious. And he still put up a good fight. "No to all of this, except Mew being able to learn any move.
" @Edamame: Missingo, he was a glitched pokemon, he could go up to level 250 or so. "He is not even recognized as a canon Pokemon. He was just a glitch in the original Red and Blue.

More like the "origin" of Pokemon. Arceus is more likely to win though.
It would be pretty neat if it was.
It does seem really dumb to think Missingno is Canon, but...........idk
Indeed, Missingno is is not a real Pokemon. It's just a game glitch that's been removed from later games. Including FR and LG.
check it out yourself if you want to learn more:

But this is off-topic anyway.
Edit: Link fixed. Don't know what just happened there.
Mew was basically the ancestor of all Pokemon, but it was never "god". There were many Mews years and years ago in Pokemon history.
Arceus would win...but Mew is cuter.
"Co-signed. Even FR and LG did not recognize Missingno. If the remakes of the originals did not recognize him, he is definitely not canon.

In Gold version...it was said Ho-Oh is the God of Pokemon...
I think....
Also Pokemon 2000
Deoxys and Rayquaza would own...
And Charizard...lol

" @rangersoul6: I'd like to see that Family Tree. Though it sounds like it's fairly old. "Same.
http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Mew <- Scroll down to where it says 'anime'
EDIT: I found it, here's a quote
In Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, the backdrop revolves around Mew's mysterious history and how this extremely rare Pokémon came to be so powerful. Also, at the beginning of the movie, a Pokémon "family tree" is shown. The first Pokémon on it is Mew, and the last being Ho-oh.
Eh, I may need to watch the movie again. The "family tree" in the film is called "The Tree of Beginning" and was basically just a rock formation that was more or less shaped like a large tree where Mew may have possibly originated (but that's just my personal speculation). Nor did the movie indicate that Mew was the first Pokemon that came to be (until Arceus came in gen. 4 that is) and Ho-oh was last. I'm not exactly sure what that article is talking about tbh.
" @RetolledTruth said:In the temple where you get the rainbow wing...what ever town thats in..." In Gold version...it was said Ho-Oh is the God of Pokemon... I think.... Also Pokemon 2000 Deoxys and Rayquaza would own... And Charizard...lol "Where did it say that? "
Also when ash first left on his Journey he saw Ho-Oh...they said she blessed him in the movie with Entei
In Pokemon Gold, you don't get the Rainbow Wing in a temple (which I presume you are refering to is the Burned Tower or Tin Tower in Ecruteak City), you get it from the Director of the Goldenrod Radio Tower. I don't remember anyone calling Ho-oh a god (maybe you can refresh my memory if you can quote that) but if they did, that doesn't make it some god of all Pokemon. Just what it is to the people. Ash saw Ho-oh when he began his journey, yes, but that doesn't mean it was meant to be a god. And who said who blessed him in the Pokemon 3?
I think I do remember Ho-Oh being called a God, not necessarily of all Pokemon, but he was called a God. Or a protector, I'm not quite sure.
I think Mew was considered to be the progenitor pokemon, i.e. all other pokemon were descended from him. Note that this was back when there were only 150 other pokemon.
Arceus supposedly created the entire pokemon universe, so I kind of doubt it's one of Mew's descendants.
I think that several of the legendaries are considered gods of one domain or another. I believe Ho-Oh is the god of the legendary birds (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres), while Lugia is the god of the dog-things (Raikou, Entei, Suicune). I might have that backwards though, or just be mistaken. I'm certainly not an expert.
In addition, Groudon is the god of earth, Kyogre the god of the seas, Rayquaza the god of the skies, Dialga the god of time, Palkia the god of space, and Arceus is just God.
In-game Arceus stomps Mew. Better base stats and I believe better typing. I think he has some sort of kick-ass unique move as well, but I'm not sure. Mewtwo also beats Mew, although his only advantage is better base stats. Yeah, Mew held his own in the movie, but then the movie also had Ash getting petrified when he got hit by two hyper beams, instead of just being vaporized. Then they fixed him by crying on him. So it was really kind of stupid in a lot of ways.
I don't know why they created Arceus, Mew is way cooler :).

OMG, My Pidgeotto is evolving! :D
Yeah, Ho Oh is above The Legendary Birds.
And Lugia is the leader of the Legendary Birds.
Ho-Oh and Lugia are pretty much like polar opposites.
