Strength

She's strong enough to rip concrete, throw heavy stuff, bash in brick walls, knock out a grown man with a flask, etc.

Speed/Reflex/Agility

Dodges gunfire regularly, catches Vlad's cleaver in midair and tosses it back, etc.

Tanks a hit from a truck while going at high speed.

Skill

Is a skilled combatant, especially with her tail or and against winged opponents -- such as here, where she uses her tail to ground a rogue angel, or when she uses it (and a stool) to one-shot Vlad.

Uh, I know quite a bit about Jean-Paul Valley. Not so much about Lane.

What has Mercy done with prep that could help tip the scale? I'm not sure she's going to be able to hurt someone who can shrug off RPG's without some serious fire-power:

JPV would be a better match imo. Lane is haxed.

@strider92: She hasn't done a ton with prep (considering she was in like 6 issues ever) but she did do this:

Besides that not much, except let Hank give her more and more gear (he does have some advanced stuff though, like halo-locks and other stuff that is usually for killing angels.

@strider92: I can switch it to Valley, I didn't know Lane was that durable.

@joygirl: I think i'm going to have to give this to Lane then. Mercy doesn't seem to have the tools to get past his durability and his swords are made for killing evil beings. I guess Mercy would fit that category heck the sword of sin judged Batman as guilty and tried to kill him. Only Lane pulling away saved his life:

@strider92: I switched it to Valley. I was underestimating Lane.

@joygirl: Yeah it happens as their aren't many Lane threads about. Most of the time the second incarnation is weaker than the first but Lane was far more powerful the JVP as Azrael.

Now i'm not sure. JVP is arguably stronger but he's not as agile. Also as he hasn't got Lane's insane durability. That flamethrower zippo lighter could cause him some serious harm. I think with the prep to think things over Mercy could take the win.

@strider92: The flamethrower also does not effect inorganic material so it MIGHT not go through his armor, but it would still scorch his clothes and skin and face and stuff.

@joygirl: probably wouldn't stop the heat either.

I'm pretty sure JPV is fireproof.

I'd say quite well.

He has superhuman durability, for sure.

He kept fighting after being struck by lightning and didn't seem too bothered:

He's also really strong.

He could lift the Batcomputer, stone statues, a massive tree etc, as well as punch through solid concrete:

Speed wise, he's no slouch.

He's deflected bullets with his sword, caught arrows and has impressive agility:

Skill wise, he definitely trumps Mercy:

He's beaten 3 of the LOA's best assassins while testing himself, done moves Ra's Al Ghul thought were impossible and he's stomped Batman.

He's also had a few fights with Bane. I believe he lost one fight (as Batman) but defeated Bane twice afterwards (once as Batman and once as Azrael).

He's even beaten Santa:

I guess Valley takes it. He has pretty good feats in 'Contagion' and 'No Man's Land'. Not to mention the beating he gave Bane. I just noticed, the dude is my Namesake. :D

@joygirl: If Mercy can be damaged by conventional weaponry, then JPV could score the upset here, due to his skill level and the sheer amount of dog in him to fight until the end no matter what. He's also quite strong, though I'm not sure if he's stronger than Mercy or not. I say:

If conventional weapons can mortally wound her, JPV 7/10.

If you need Holy Water or something to hurt her, she sweeps him 10/10 by default.
