Dagon from oblivion vs Alduin from Skyrim. Who wins?
Mehrunes Dagon vs Alduin
@sheenlantern: an elder scroll =/= mortals.
Alduiin the sun of akatosh himself, the world eater wins this one.
@cooldes: I killed him myself in Sovngarde.
With my bare hands...
@sheenlantern: no you didn't.
You + 3 dragonborn heros, and a special shout you had to go back in time to get isn't really doing it yourself.
@cooldes: I could boot up Skyrim right now, use the console to despawn the 3 heroes and use long-ranged attacks to kill him without using the shout.
@cooldes: I could boot up Skyrim right now, use the console to despawn the 3 heroes and use long-ranged attacks to kill him without using the shout.
wouldn't that be cheating?
@princearagorn1: yes, yes it would.

How would it be cheating?
@sheenlantern: regardless of your console cheating, you still didn't kill alduin.
When adluin was defeated by you and those 3 other dragonborn heros, his sould was not absorbed as is other dragons. When you ask paathurnax or arngeir about it they'll tell you it's cause he's not actually dead and he'll return to fufill the prophecy of the elder scrolls.
@sheenlantern: regardless of your console cheating
How is it cheating? I was getting rid of my teammates, that's giving Alduin an advantage.
When you ask paathurnax or arngeir about it they'll tell you it's cause he's not actually dead and he'll return to fufill the prophecy of the elder scrolls.
Well that should at least count as BFR. And if I can do it, Dagon can do it.
Gods > Dragons
Dagon
Alduin IS a god. Also, @reikai can help you, I think.
Alduin wins. And Dragonborn took down Alduin, not just some mortal. I wouldn't really consider that a low showing.

Daedric God > Dragon God
Alduin, I respect Dagon and all that. But in oblivion he was defeated by a mortal, that isn't even on Dovahkiin's level.
@jasonhawke: Where'd you get that claim from?
Jmarshmallow
@laughingstock: To be fair, Dagon was defeated by a mortal that turned into the Chief Deity of the Nine Divines.
Jmarshmallow
@jmarshmallow: Well the Chdif Deity of The Nine Divines but nobody really cares about that guy, it's the horse armor. Without Horse armor he wouldn't have stood a chance.
@laughingstock: Gah! You're right! How silly of me. Obviously, Adoring Fan could have solo'ed if he had horse armor

Gods > Dragons
Dagon
Alduin is god of destruction, and can never truly be destroyed until he fulfills his destiny.
Alduin, I respect Dagon and all that. But in oblivion he was defeated by a mortal, that isn't even on Dovahkiin's level.
Dragonborn was 'mortal' too. Every Daedric Prince or other supernatural being he's encountered addressed him as such.
Dagon was actually defeated by Akatosh, who is beyond Dovahkiin's level. To say otherwise is equal to talking out of your ass.
Gods > Dragons

Neither can Dagon. The most Akatosh could do was banish him to Oblivion.
@azathoth_the_dread_sleeper: Pretty much when Dovahkiin is done he is like a Demigod.
Gods > Dragons
Dagon
Alduin=God=/=Dagon=God
It took akatosh himself to defeat Dagon. The most he could do is banish him anyway. Dagon wins here.
Dagon is the DAEDRIC Prince of Destruction. Alduin is the NORDIC God of Destruction.
Daedric>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nordic
Daedric Prince of Destruction FTW
Dagon i kill Alduin with his dagger
Dagon is the DAEDRIC Prince of Destruction. Alduin is the NORDIC God of Destruction.

Biased. Then I'd say It took Dagon so long to enter Cyrodiil I took down his oblivion gates before he even set foot.
Hero of Kvatch >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dagon
@azathoth_the_dread_sleeper: Pretty much when Dovahkiin is done he is like a Demigod.
True.
But when Martin Septim was possessed by Akatosh, he was effectively a GOD.
Both are God's and it's really hard to defer which is more powerful as they show similar levels of power.
Alduin
Only an Elder Scroll, the Dovahkiin, or Dragon-Rend is capable of defeating him.
If we are going by what was strictly shown in the games then by your logic the only thing that can defeat Dagon is Akatosh.
Alduin

Logic like this is hilariously broken.
Alduin has no way of harming or killing Mehrunes.
If we used this terrible logic of yours, Mehrunes would be the one to come out on top.

Dagon > Akatosh > Alduin
If you know anything about Elder Scrolls lore you realize that the Aedra are the et'Ada that gave up a portion of their power to create Nirn (the physical realm of TES series) and the Daedra are the et'Ada that were greedy and kept their powers. Yeah Akatosh stopped Dagon from conquering Tamriel but he did it when Dagon hadn't fully sent his power to Nirn and he was in a weakened state and it's not like he killed Dagon, he just sent him back to his realm. If Dagon had the time to fully amass his power in the physical plane of existence then there is probably nobody that could have stopped him period.
Alduin is a god in the sense that the sun was a god to ancient civilizations, he's not a god, he's just the oldest and most powerful Dragon and has a portion of the power of Akatosh. Mehrunes Dagon is a bonified, unkillable, limitless power, god.
i wanna say it again
Dagon is the DAEDRIC Prince of Destruction. Alduin is the NORDIC God of Destruction.

So you're implying that Dagon has a way of harming or killing Alduin. Without the sole abilities or artifacts that were needed to kill Alduin? Because Alduin cannot be taken down by any other means.
That is broken logic.
Anyway, I wasn't thinking about how Alduin is meant to harm Dagon either. So at best they'd stalemate, but if it had to be one or the other, i'd pick Alduin.
Alduin and Dagon are probably around the same level of power if I had to take a guess. But my god, Mehrunes Dagon gets way too much hype considering how many times he was stopped by people with less power. I'm not saying he isn't powerful, but people make him out to be unstoppable when he isn't. I can name at LEAST two people who could stop Mehrunes Dagon, and they would be Sithis or the Nerevarine, at LEAST.

Fully agree.
I think that Alduin would win just because the power of Akatosh killed Dagon and Alduin is the son of Akatosh, also Skyrim is just more fun. But I think it comes to the question who would you want behind you in a Bar Fight, 55ft tall God or A FUKIN DRAGON!!!

Dagon wrecks.
Alduin was killed by mortals.
Alduin is a son of Akatosh. Akatosh > Dagon
