Maxima vs Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter. As far as telepathy goes, I think they are equals. As far as a physical fight goes, they are both on par with Superman in strength. However, Martian Manhunter has the advantage due to his intangibility.

MM, being smarter and having advanced shape-shifting.

I believe so. Apart from Martian Manhunter using his telepathy on people like the Spectre (who was unconscious when he did it), I don't think she needs something of that nature to be able to measure up with him. On top of that, Maxima's telepathy is better tailored for combat (because she uses it a lot in battle). Her telekinesis is quite powerful as well, having been able to shift continental plates with it even when she was weaken. Then there was the time she used her mind to create at psionic highway to provide intergalactic transport, and the time she defeated a powered Brianwave in the Astral Plane  I haven't seen anything that would make Martian Manhunter a better telepath then her. If they were to engage in psionic combat, it would be too close to call. "

I personally love Maxima, but if I'm honest I think Martian Manhunter takes this, I think their powers are on the same scale but his with his intelligence, he could come up with something...

I figured if he went intangible, she would have a hard time hitting him with physical attacks. But, she could have other ways of attacking him, I guess. "

It's the only way that she can't actually touch him. If he couldn't go all phasey then Maxima would win this without a doubt. "

While I'm not a Maxima fan I think she could take this one. Physically she has taken on Superman (which lets face it MM cant) She may be slightly behind him as a telepath but she does have other mental powers that make up for this. I dont see shape changing or intangibility helping Jonn' (is so how does he attack since he porb' wont win in a mental assault. Add to which Maxima is a warrior type who is far more likely to take this battle to the next level (and next after that and so on).

" @Static Shock: I was mainly questioning the poster who claimed that J'onn was stronger and way faster than Maxima without referencing anything to back up that remark.  Could J'onn phase before Maxima melted his martian brain in a quick draw?  Eh.  I think you're looking at a 50/50 shot.

Superman and Wonder Woman have been able to keep up with the Flash at supersonic speeds. But, they have never been able to do the same when Flash is exceeding light speed.   Thus, keeping up with the Flash when he's not at his top speed isn't really a feat. "
