Thor vs Superman - this can go either way, but for Thor to win he has to act out of character and go straight to the magic of Mjilnor which he wont. His warrior pride means he will try to duke it out and loose. This is the one of the three most over done battle on any comic based forum

Captain America vs Batman - also an either way and another of the three most over done debates (the third being Superman Vs Silver Surfer)

Spider-man vs J'onn J'onzz - PLEASE this is the greatest mismatch ever, J'onn has many many times the strength and speed, is invulnerable, has invisibility, intangibility, shape shifting, not to mention TP and TK. Spiderman doesn't have a chance. There are much better matches for Peter. For example Crimson Fox, who has agilty and speed to match his, danger sense, pheromones. Another would be Argus who's physical enhancements are below Peters (5 ton) but has the ability to become invisible in shadows that Peter's spidey Sense could work around. Countless others.

Dr Strange vs Dr Fate - I have actually posted on 8 threads on CV alone with this battle. It's a stalemate and always was. The peak feats of both Classic versions of these characters are the same. Every one of the 8 threads has no clear winner.

Ms Marvel vs Wonder Woman WW is faster, stronger and more resilient.

Rogue vs Supergirl _ seriously Supergirl can finish Rogue from a distance with heat vision or up close so quickly she wont have a chance to copy her powers.

Namor vs Aquaman - this one i've posted on 4 CV threads with these characters. Another over played match up. Standard version of each should tie. Aquaman with either water hand or trident wins. They are the same physically in strength, speed, durability. Arthur has TP Namor has flight.

Ant-man vs Atom - Ray Palmer can alter his size to much greater degrees and has shown much greater versatity in applying this power. he can also alter his mass both down and up meaning he can hit with the weight of sonething much greater (effectively a super punch)

Vision vs Red Tornado - Tornado is an air elemental using an android as a host. If Vision does beat the android that will release the elemental turning win into loss. The air elemental with Reddy (when out of control) soloed the Satellite are JLA (including Superman, GL, Zatanna, Firestorm, and 11 more heroes). Vision is out of his league.

Captain America vs Batman Cap is more physically powerful, they're tied in Martial Arts, and Cap's enhanced brain allows him to strategize much faster than Batman.

Spider-man vs J'onn J'onzz This is so unfair unless Spider-Man has massive prep time.

Silver Surfer vs Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) The power Cosmic has proved to be much more potent many times already.

Iron man vs Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) Unless Iron Man has time to come up with a Lanter Buster Armor, he loses.

Ghost Rider vs Etrigan the Demon Ghost Rider not only has a massive speed advantage, but he has incredible durability, nothing can destroy him other than Holy Weapons or Magic, and Etrigan is much more easily harmed.

Hulk vs Flash Hulk can track speedsters as they move around and has displayed this ability a few times, he easily counters Quicksilver and Silver Surfer, when they should technically be able to dodge them.

Dr Strange vs Dr Fate Dr. Strange has far more reality manipulation feats, and he's got far more experience when it comes to fighting Godly beings. He even fought in a magic war for a thousand years.

Ms Marvel vs Wonder Woman In Pre-52 Wonder Woman loses purely because of her lack of durability, but in Nu52, she would lose due to Ms. Marvel having higher displays of strength-matching a Skrull who copied the strength of World War Hulk-and Ms. Marvel having her energy manipulation, giving her far more ranged abilities.

Rogue vs Supergirl If this is Rogue with Ms. Marvel's powers, then her goal would just need to be to touch Supergirl, but with out, it'd be a tossup, but with how much Supergirl throws haymakers, Rogue could probably lay a hand on her

Namor vs Aquaman Namor is stronger and more durable than Aquaman, he's matched Hercules and Hulk all the time.

Ant-man vs Atom Ant-Man is smarter with more degrees, and he can bring in many different weapons.

@conner_wolf: What are you talking about Wonder Woman loses to Carol even Post Crisis? Diana outclasses Carol in the physicals, is a better fighter, and has taken hits from Zoom (who was punching her from continent to continent IIRC), hits from a bloodlusted Superman and came back from being blitzed by Karen from Washington (or somewhere else in the States) to Canada.

She took heat vision to the face (a bloodlusted Supes' to be exact) tanked Omega Beams with her bracelets and an Olympian blast that destroyed a mountain or something like that. Plus she does have a ranged attack, Zeus' lightning. And a force field could pop up when she crossed her arms and needed it.

Current Diana probably loses though.

I agree though that Rogue could win depending on whose powers she has. Since the op hasn't given any info I assume she just has no powers/not so sure what standard Rogue has for "standard" powers. Unless Ms Marvel or something like that, Kara could probably use heat vision to fry her or use her speed to close in any gaps and ko her before she can react.

@saint_sophie: I never said she had no durability, but her own physical durability tends to be in question most of the time. Only in the Nu52 does she officially have a Superman-level durability.

As for tanking the Omega Beams and Superman's heat vision, she used her bracelets for both.

My point was she normally has to make up for not having as high a level of durability as say Superman on many occasions, and while Carol's isn't that much higher, her offense and energy projection is high to an insane degree. Yes, Wonder Woman has energy projection of her own, but Carol's simply blows her's out of the water at least from what I've seen.

I can concede with your point about Rogue. Although I'd prefer if it was Power Girl, not Supergirl winning this fight.

@conner_wolf: I did say that she tanked OBs with her bracelets, and she can react and use her bracelets against heat vision, but pre 52 Diana took Supes heat vision to the face. As for the point, I'm trying to say that Diana's bracelets could block Carol's energy blasts, and if Diana could close in the gaps, I'm sure she can come out victorious in terms of h2h. I do agree that her durability isn't on par with Supes, but she's not that far behind.

As for that, I'd just like to say what has New 52 Diana done that put her in Superman's class of durability, as I'm catching up with her ongoing, SM/WW and read several of her JL appearances but haven't seen her do anything noteworthy, (I mean Doomsday broke her arms while Clark was the one who tossed the ship). And in terms of feats in regards to physicals, Clark's got her beat there.

@saint_sophie: The difference between lasers and energy blasts is, energy blasts can be made to encompass a much wider area that the Omega Beams and Clark's Heat Vision can, and have much more pure destructive power-well maybe not compared to the Omega beams.

And I for some reason remember her getting a massive spike in durability, maybe that's just me remembering something weird...

And personally, I thought this match would be the closest of any of them, so I am willing to concede WW would win seeing these new durability feats.
