Kingpin and Black Mask want Jonn dead, they hire Doc Ock, Electro, Sandman, Electro, Livewire, Joker, Crimson Dynamo,, Clayface,  and War Machine.

I generally try to be open minded and not scream 'stomp' to rashly, but I don't think any of these guys would have a way to take down J'onn

Sounds more like they want the competition out of the way, I bet they have a stash of Oreo's waiting to give J'onn when he's done pulverizing those poor guys.
