I know J'Onn won in the cartoon, but would he win in the comics?
Stipulations: If and only if Hellfire proves to be too much for J'Onn, then consider it disabled for thread purposes. Thanks.

@TheBatman586: A VERY good point. I've read all of Grant's run and can't recall an instance off the top of my head. I suppose I should get around to reading my big Kirby reprint book sometime soon.
Thank you for
A. The response
B. The reason why
I'll give it Martian Manhunter, because of TP, I don't think Etrigan has any resistance to it. Although perhaps Hellfire could pose a problem.

Martian Manhunter wins here against Etrigan the Demon.
Martian Manhunter has Telepathy that would screw with Etrigan's head... as well as Martian Manhunter could go Intangible to avoid Etrigan's Hellfire attacks...
I sorta agree but just a question, wouldnt hellfire make him go all huff and puff?? because although MM has some resistance to fire i dont think he has ever shown a complete immunity to it, and hell fire is prolly the worst kind of fire.
I believe Martian Manhunter has gotten over his Fear of Fire... So even if Hellfire is More Potent in Attack... it should not matter what kind of fire it is as long as MM goes Intangible to avoid it.@King Saturn said:

Anyone can survive Hellfire. It burns the soul, not the body. It did as much damage to Sam Donaldson as it did to Superman.
That said, it hurts like hell.

@yarva: No, Hellfire won't do shit to MMH. And magic isn't effective either.
Someone show me Martian Manhunter doing anything more than a simple mind probe on a magical being. I've never seen it.
Additionally, hellfire can still hurt him. He isn't immune to fire he just isn't afraid of it.
J'onn can still win I think, but not by TP.
Martian man hunter
Not really, no.
