Movie Magic throw down. Who do you think would win by movie feats alone.
Battle in the Shire.
idk this is a pretty good fight. Gandalf did beat the Balrog and has fire/light on his side (he was completely unaffected by Saruman's fire blast). He also has probably the most experience, although he has only fought powerful magic opponents a few times, and he lost to Saruman the first time, the Witch King, and Sauron's spirit form in the Hobbit. He has lots of good courage and fighting feats, but only manifests pretty subtle magic in most cases.
Voldemort has the smokey travel stuff, so he could get the drop on either of them pretty quickly. Very powerful curses, but you could probably argue that both would be immune to stuns and imperious type spells. At the same time, he destroyed the barrier around Hogwarts when thousands of his minions weren't being very useful, so he could probably get through their protections and go in for the kill pretty quickly. He did get beat by an 18 year old though. haha! (yes, with lots of help from his friends and prophesies, etc., but still)
But then, it's in the Shire, so Maleficent has all that nature to manipulate and use against them. Her spells take a little more time to conjure in some cases, but they are arguably some of the most powerful as far as movie feats go. She turned a crow into a very durable dragon, created a spell that she herself couldn't undo, and proved herself very battle worthy. She also has very fast healing factor, even with the weakness to iron and years of prep for King Stephan. As much as i like the other two, I would personally be rooting for her in most cases.
Here's an interesting question i've had about the HP universe: Can parsel tongues talk to dragons at all? Harry didn't, but maybe Voldemort could? probably not Maleficent's dragon since he's loyal to her, but you know what i mean.
Gandalf based on feats.
You think his feats are better than Maleficent? Or Voldy?

He definetly has in the books.

IMO, yes. Defeating Durin's Bane (while in his weaker "grey" form), has control over fire with his ring "nayra", tanked a powerful magical attack from Saruman, also has an enchanted elvish sword (Glamdring), creating force fields, etc.
@bruxae: This is not books feats. Books Gandalf is way more powerful in many respects to the movie versions. Not that the movies accurately follow the books anyway.
Maleficent wins
i really did enjoy her new movie. So much magic for one Movie.

OP did not specify what feats may be used, so I assumed all?
EDIT: I see now that it did, not sure if I missed it or you edited it, either way.. Nevermind.

I put in the OP Movie pictures and stated "movie magic showdown" from the beginning :)
From what I've seen in the Maleficent movie she does have pretty good dark magic feats like controlling nature, TK moves, and also haves some h2h combat as well.
Maleficent wins
Movie versions Maleficient just turns them into birds or whatever
Never watched Maleficient, I heard it was pretty bad.
Great Reviews and ratings. I saw it with a meh attitude, and was very surprised.
