Mako vs Korra (earth)

In this battle of earth and fire, Mako will put his firebending to the test against Korra's earthbendng, who will win?

Korra is restricted to earthbending only. No AS

Fight takes place where Korra and Asami fought the bandits (basically just an open area). Starting distance is 20 feet. Time is noon.

Both are in character. Victory by ko

Round 1: No lightning, no metal

Round 2: Mako has lightning. Korra has a set of cables for metalbending

R1- Korra. Mako has a lot of the standard advantages over her here in different amounts, speed, power, skill....but Korra's just a better fighter. I can't see him putting it all together and over coming her

R2- Mako. Trying to use metal effectively against him will be much more difficult for Korra then for Mako to get a quick shot in. Still not seeing lightning as the win here, but definetly a deciding factor.

Korra takes round 1. She has the earthbending power to take him. Her earthbending is underrated

Mako MAYBE has round 2. Lightning is a deciding factor, but he might not be able to handle the cables

So you're saying Mako's going to zap Korra right away? That's not in-character for him. Besides, why can't Korra use the same tactic in Round 1 along with using her cables?

@llehdevil: No, but i see him dodging cables and boulders until he eventually uses it as a way to get Korra off of offense long enough for him to counter attack.

@koays: Why can't he do that R1? He has less to deal with.

@koays: How or what specific scenario would give that impression about Korra's ability to fight?

Well for one my point was more about Korra's lack of experience with cables, and her personality being such that she'd use them despite being having shown more effectiveness with just Earth bending. Basically the time she spends trying to use the Cable's could've been a moment when she instead duplicates one of her earth bending power feats.

But when analyzing it Korra's ability to fight over the course of the series it's not hard to see that she stands out when not utilizing all of her bending styles. Her battles in the Water Tribes during midd to late book 2, against Amon after being stripped, and most fights in which she has a large feat of power tend to give a image that if Korra relied on a single form she'd be more effective then she is. EDIT: Book 4 finale being the big exception

@arcus: Korra's earthbending is quite powerful and she definitely has quite a lot of skill, however Mako is pretty underrated in the agility and skill department. Korra has a durability advantage and can put her advantages together better, but Mako can play his cards right more often than not giving him the advantage.

Korra probably for round 2 as she could tag him faster with cables, and Mako isn't using lightning off the bat.

This is a good fight.

Round 1 is definitely Korras. More power, better defence and superior physicals and agility.

Round 2 I still think Korra but with bloodlust Mako could edge her due to lightning spam.
